I'm not sure either. My home internet has gone down 5 times today already .. don't want to race to be disconnected halfway through.
From the highs of winning race 1, to the lows of getting major lag (didn't happen once in Race 1) on the run to T1 in race 2, and taking out quite a few drivers. Sorry to all that got caught up, nothing I could do (saw Ken at the rear of the field, that guy cannot catch a break) Pitted for repairs and came out just behind the pack (a lap down) and it was still lagging for me, so would have been dangerous to try to make up places on anybody, so parked it back in the garage. EDIT: Go to turn pc off, and notice it has an update. Bet windows was downloading that update during race two
Hero to Zero Andrew, what a big disappointment! These two races for me weren't much better. In R1 I was on the outside going through T1, not challenging anybody, and on the exit somebody came across the front of me and pushed me ever so gently into the barrier. I then discovered the barrier didn't want to let me go and the front right wheel looked like it was on the other side of the barrier. The rear wheels were burning up trying to get it to let go, so with no other option I had to ESC. In R2 I was again safely holding my grid position as we ran down to T1, saw a car go sideways up ahead, slowed a bit and followed those in front avoiding it when I got whacked from behind, spinning me round 180 and leaving me in last position once I got underway again. At least the car still felt OK so I was able to run my expected race pace and ultimately recover to 10th, but with the final place being at the expense of poor Philipp, who was lagging badly, losing him several places over the last couple of laps. Maybe if these type of starts continue, we should introduce a no passing rule until after T1. EDIT Wheel grabbing Armco!
You are not alone, seems today was windows update day. By the way, the moment wenn the update kicked in, right after the start from race one. Sorry again Michael, I first had really no idea what happend. After that I pitted to repair (the car drove as it had some beers too much) and watched my task manager. Nothing obvious, I closed a process which seemed odd. That was most likely the windows update, then I statred race two from a good positon (P5) and had some very good fights with Roel. But in the last two laps the update came up again and brought me from P6 to 13. At least I know now what happend and that I´m still capable of racing rf2. Had some doubts about that. Let´s hope for some fewer windows updates at the next round.
Im quite happy with the results today, on my end. Although starting from the front row and taking the lead at T1 on Race 1, I expected more than a 5th place. Turns out that qualify so high was just eventual, my pace was not that strong. I made a few mistakes aswell, outbraking myself a few times. In one of those I have to apologise to @Henry Drury, because we touched and I squeezed him almost against the armco. True is I never saw where he was until our cars touched, so that is my responsability. Fortunately no harm done, we both continued on the race Had a titanic fight for 3th and 2nd with @Jens Roos , @Paul Anstey , @Bill Grewcock and @Michał Mazurek that lasted pretty much the whole race. Unfortunately it ended when me and Bill had a coming together on the last corner close to the end of the race. He waited for me, which I apprecciate. Race 2: Managed to escape the debacle that @Andrew Williams mentioned in his post, starting from row 3. Up to 3th on lap 1 after overtake @Roel Postma , had a intense chase trying to get close to Bill, also sustaining some heavy pressure from Paul Anstey. Our pace was just too equal, so the question was not make any mistakes. Hold to that podium spot until the end. Good result! Too bad we had so many accidents at T1 on both races. Hopefully we can improve that for the next rounds. Cyu all there, I hope.
My qualifying effort for the first race was porridge, nowhere near my PB, missed out on qualifying for race 2 when my rF2 froze. Race 1, had a good scrap with Didier & Gerhard I think it was, good clean racing. Lost out on a position at the end but I',m not going to comment on that. Congrats to Andrew for the race 1 win, great effort but bad luck for him in race 2. Race 2, having not qualified I found myself starting from 2nd last nonetheless I had a great race, Jens & I fighting again, all fair and enjoyable. Grats to Bill & Angelo for their podiums. Regards, Bret
Race 1 : Managed to run in 4th for much of the race until the last few laps when I got mugged and passed by a number of cars. Lucky for me they got tangled up with each other and 4th was mine. Race 2 : Started in 8th and because of the T1 tangles I got 4th behind Angelo. Ran pretty much on is rear for most of the race until I hit the barrier going into the chicane. This bent the steering and on the next lap hit the barrier again. More damage meant the last few laps were difficult to keep the car straight and I was passed on the last lap last hairpin. 5th was a good result though.
What an excellent evening of intense racing. Race 1 involved a titanic battle with Angelo, Paul and Jens until, just a couple of laps from the end, I tangled with Angelo. We were having such a great duel that I waited until he was able to resume his position ahead of me and we continued in that order until the chequered flag. At the start of race 2 I profited from Andrew's misfortune and ended up in P2 on lap 1. Angelo was on my case throughout the entire race, never more than 1.5 sec behind but more often right on my tail. I managed to avoid losing concentration and so maintained P2 but if I had made any mistake he would have been past me in no time . AWESOME
19:20 CET start the race, race against time at this time it turns out that my rFactor does not start. There was a JSON file error. It took me 30 minutes to solve the problem. After entering the server, it turned out that my steering wheel is not configured, the next 10 minutes I devote to setting the controller Q1 I have not set everything right, just P10 Warmup 1 corrects the settings R1 P2 was max possibilities ... satisfied with the result I am going to refill the electrolytes, when I come back it turns out that rF also went out, to the windows my hopes that the second race will be normal just died, I'm late for qualifying I will start the race from the end Warmup 2 turns out that the steering wheel I have to configure again - great R2 at the start I have not lost any position like never before A moment after the start - an accident I am forced to stop the car. After a long moment I move on, I have a lot of loss, but I'm going on There was a bit of fighting on the track, finally in the last corner I won P4 Thank you for racing
