WELCOME TO ROUND 2 POTRERO DE LOS FUNES

The Potrero de los Funes Circuit (Circuito de Potrero de los Funes) circuit is an Argentine motorsports race track originally constructed in 1987, and rebuilt in 2008. It is located 14-kilometre (8.7 mi) from San Luis, capital city of the San Luis Province, Argentina. The circuit is semi-permanent, with a length of 6.270 km (3.896 mi). It was created by modifying the ring road that encircles Lake Potrero de los Funes, at the course's center.

The circuit has received very high praise from the drivers for its substantial undulations and numerous high speed corners and bends, which provide a great driving challenge.

The track's layout has changed slightly from its original layout. It appears that the curve prior to where the pits are now was tightened to create a more pronounced corner ahead of the pits, and perhaps to reduce speeds on the racing line going past the new pit exit. On the opposite side of the lake, where start/finish used to be located, a chicane has been added at the first high speed bend along that stretch. Also, on the initial descending run along the lake, there has been another chicane added to reduce speeds into the following corner that has limited run-off. Therefore, the original course had slightly shorter length of 6.186 km (3.844 mi).

This track will put some hair on your chest :p:eek:
I love the way the Porsche moves around on the surface. It's almost like driving a real car. Great FFB on this track.

    Drivers briefing

    1. Potrero de los Funes conditions
    1) The race will start at 02:00 PM (in-game time of course)
    2) Time acceleration is normal. Fuel and Tires are set to normal.
    3) Cut Track points are set to 6
    4) 100% damage
    5) This event has a Formation lap with a standing start

    2. The use of the Esc. key in Qualification
Use of the Esc key during Qualifying is the equivalent of stopping your car and getting out. This may be done only in your pit stall. There are very few exceptions to this rule. Here are the only two we will currently consider. These exceptions are subject to change at any time:
    1. You run out of fuel in pit lane before reaching your pit stall.
    2. You sustain damage to your car as a result of another driver and cannot make it back to your pit stall. You must prove your qualifying session was wrecked by another driver and that you made an attempt to return to pit lane.

If you use the Esc key in any location other than your pit stall, your Qualifying session is over and you may not return to the track.

    3. You can find the password for the race server on the Potrero de los Funes event page.

    4. Unregistering in time if you can't make it.

    5. Please use the
same name in the rFactor 2 game as on our SRO signup list or it won't match in our automated result processing.

You can change your name under "Content and Settings" in the "My Profile" menu in rFactor 2.

    6. If you plan to PROTEST another driver, you have to wait 24 hours counting from the end of the race.

Any protest filed before that time will be viewed as not received. You can find the rules about submitting a protest here.

    7. You can find the server by typing SRO or the track name. Add the server to your favorites so you can always find it.
If you can't find the server in the rFactor 2 server list, you can access this way:
    1. click on this link: https://simracepackages.lima-city.de/rF2server/
    2. scroll down to "SRO" (it's alphabetical)
    3. choose the correct server and Join with the password (see point 3 above)
    4. the server will start automatically and will take you to the event

Well, that was a race on the edge of disaster for me, and for some over the edge. A lot of humbs and bumps on full speed. On top of that, the rear of the car was very skitich with a low wing setting. The back would just torque out in high-speed corners LOL. Rolling the dice if you kept your foot in it ...!

@Robin Taylor only did a few laps in practice with an average time and fooled me into thinking that he was out of contention for this race. Not so!
He was bloody super fast in the race and outpacing me. Untill he made a mistake and went sideways. I passed him and he started dropping back, with some trouble, no doubt.
Was 3rd in the race due to some more drop-outs. Tire degradation was better than I expected, but I don't practice that much, so I just take it as it comes.

Compliments to Lorenzo, Nick and Toni for super fast times. That is just another league lol.
Nick should not only start at the back, but also a lap down :p

Good race all, Congrats to Lorenzo and the podium, Lorenzo, Nick and Toni we're definitely in a league of their own.. Such a hard track and car combo, the braking over the bumps and trying to keep the rear stable, Good fun once you've got the hang of it. Felt pretty good as the race started, managed to build a small gap on @John vd Geest, I told myself to just take it easy but then ended up pushing myself to far trying to get a faster lap each time. Ended up losing the rear, which gave John the place(hopefully I'll give you a better battle next time) had a few more offs, no damage though. Catch ya's at the next one..
