    DISCLAIMER: DRIVING PROTO-TYPES

    * If you choose to drive a proto-type in this series, you must realize and accept that in every race you will be held up several times per lap.
    * If you choose to drive a proto-type in this series, you have to respect every other driver on track in any class at any moment (even if you're fighting).
    * If you choose to drive a proto-type in this series, you must realize that the GTE class is your equal on track and does not need to get out of your way.
    * If you choose to drive a proto-type in this series, you must realize that the GTE class is the most difficult of all three classes because they are the slowest.

If a proto-driver does not understand these rules of behaviour, he will be asked to move to the GTE class.

Sorry @John vd Geest is this a wet, dry, wet, dry, almost dry, drying, nearly dry, very wet race? :)

EDIT: Sorry my mistake I see it's Turkey that's the next all-weather event :)

I thought about having a short rain period at Road America, but I think 3 wet races in a row is a bit much. Rain has to stay fun and something special. So the next and last wet weather event is Turkey.

Yeah I'll be there for sure (brilliant circuit). My only problem at the moment is the 6th March (Fuji) as I'm in France (and probably trying to avoid COVID unless the numbers start to drop soon! lol)

    Waiting time server reset

At the request of the broadcast team, I would like to ask everybody to stay on the server after the race until the server resets itself for a new weekend.
This has to do with the result list that is showing in rFactor 2 on completion of the race.

I'm assuming this means if you retire as well? Just keep yourself in the pits and not leave?

Not a problem I can just leave the PC running :)

no, if you retire in the race, your car stays in the server, but if you leave when the race is done, the server erases your car, so if you DNF mid race, you can leave :)

@John vd Geest if a driver DNF mid race, they can leave the server, you can edit your post so people don't get confused :D

    The starting grid is uphill

When you get on the starting grid and engage the clutch and put it in first gear, your car will begin to roll backwards because the strating grid is uphill.
Keep your foot on the brake, or you'll get a Drive Through penalty.

Idk if many realize it (and it's not been so long ago since it was added) but there is a 'hold brakes' option in the difficulty settings that will prevent rolling away on inclined starts like this. It just holds the brakes until you start move/make other inputs...after that, it does nothing. There's also hold clutch so those using clutch won't stall.
I don't personally use either of those, but it's worth a mention for those that tend to forget things like rolling away on an inclined grid :D

    Drivers briefing

    1. This event will be broadcasted
    Broadcast team: EithaRacingTeam
    Broadcasters: Nassim, Lorenzo & Sameer
Twitch broadcast link: www .twitch .tv/eitharacingteam (delete the spaces)

    2. The use of the Esc. key in Qualification
Use of the Esc key during Qualifying is the equivalent of stopping your car and getting out. This may be done only in your pit stall. There are very few exceptions to this rule. Here are the only two we will currently consider. These exceptions are subject to change at any time:
    1. You run out of fuel in pit lane before reaching your pit stall.
    2. You sustain damage to your car as a result of another driver and cannot make it back to your pit stall. You must prove your qualifying session was wrecked by another driver and that you made an attempt to return to pit lane.

If you use the Esc key in any location other than your pit stall, your Qualifying session is over and you may not return to the track.

    3. Road America Race Conditions
    1) The race will start at 05:00 AM (in-game of course) when it will be completely dark.
    2) Time scale accaleration is 2 x.
    3) At 05:30 AM we have moved out of dusk (after 30 minutes of racing)
    4) From 05:30 AM on it will become full daylight.
    5) There will be no rain for this event.
Turn on your headlights as soon as you are on the starting grid for the race or you will be disqualified by the game!

    4. The race starts with a formation lap. Right after leaving the last corner, we double file in qual order.
    a. When the LMP1 pole-sitter crosses the start-line, the race begins for LMP1;
    b. When the LMP2 pole-sitter crosses the start-line, the race begins for LMP2;
    c. When the GTE pole-sitter crosses the start-line, the race begins for GTE.

    5. We will hold a 5-second gap between the different classes on the formation lap. If there is trouble ahead on lap one, you have time to react to it.

    6. Each class poll-sitter will do the formation lap approx. 120 km per hour.

    7. The server password will be changed on race day. You can find the password for the race server on the Road America Event page.

    8. Unregistering in time if you can't make it.

    9. A kind reminder that you can not use the Le Mans Aero Package in this or any other event in this series.

10, You can find the server by first typing
    sro

    11. Please use the same name in the rFactor 2 game as on our signup list or it won't match in our automated result processing.

    12. Last but not least ... SIMRACINGONLINE wishes you a great race!
