Nooooooo. I was really looking forward to the championship fight we were having especially as I've had some really challenging races in the last 2 rounds with this mod. Damn you work. Why god why did you allow the devil to invent such an evil thing
Hi guys, well yesterday I put some laps on track and did my best just to see I'm nearly +7s off the pace. I just can't make that car turn and enter the corners. Since I don't know almost anything about car setup, you guys know one or two general tips to just make the car turn into the corners? Thanks in advance!
Some very basic setup tips to make a car turn more (less understeer) lower front ARB - raise rear ARB Lower front springs (softer) - raise rear springs (harder) Lower front ride height - raise rear ride height Increase front downforce - lower rear downforce
What Andrew says plus I lowered the diff setting - Power and Coast. I'm no technical expert when it comes to setting up a car and my past results especially recently show that sometimes I concentrate too much on 1 lap pace and not enough on the race pace. It really is a black art to me and I tend to do it by trial and error. Hope these suggestions are of use. I would share my setup but it's a different car unless you are driving the Nissan then you are welcome to it. I'm using my setup from Road Atlanta as my previous 2 efforts chewed through the tyres in no time. Just done a full race difference and the tyres lasted the distance. If you want my setup I'll send it to you. It maybe of some help
Thank you guys! I'll try tomorrow your tips and sure the handling will improve. Since I'm in a Honda HSV I don't think your setup will fit my car Paul
Qualification PB to get pole Race Almost got a bad start as I spun up the rear wheels but just managed to stop the rear rotating. From there I built a solid lead over Ken. I was afraid that my tyres would go off like in the last round when I burnt through them in the first 15 minutes but they held up well all race. I had gone back to my race winning Road Atlanta setup which I should have run all season but I learnt the hard way. By the end I controlled the gap dropping my pace for the final 5 laps so not to do anything stupid. I promptly did something stupid and came very close to binning it in the wall. My only scare of the race. Well done to my team mate Ken for 2nd Well done to Phillipp for 3rd Well done to all for running. Sorry to see Csaba DNF but kudos to him for choosing that very tricky Lambo. Shame Toni was a no show.
Good job Paul, no chance for me today. Ken did also well, maybe with a better start position I could have done better, because overtaking is really hard in Abu Dhabi, especially when you cannot get close enough. But in the end my tyres were fading and I had five track limit violations, one more and it would have been a penanlty. So I reduced the risk and took the podium. The gap to @Jens Roos surprised me, because I could see the leader for the most of the race. Paul Ricard was maybe a bit better in the end result, but I soon lost track to Toni. @Ramon Llupart I can feel your pain, because I have also power understeering. It got better as Toni said to me how to drive this car. Let it roll after braking and until you are sure, that when you hit the throttle you do not have to lift. My car was not that good on the straight, but really gained in the turns. Not sure about your car, but if it is similar to mine NSX, than try to drive like that. Maybe that helps.
