My first ever pole position, and I forgot to increase radiator from qualifying to race, AGAIN. Tried to do the race saving engine but finally cooked some fire. See you next one.
I was pleasantly surprised to get P3 in qualifying and then, when the red lights went out, I was able to get a slightly better start than Paul and stole P2 from him. I settled down to follow Ramon and when his car started to emit clouds of smoke I wondered if he would get an engine failure. After a couple of laps Ramon slowed and suddenly I was in P1 . In my mirrors I could see that Paul and Jens were fighting for P2 and I was gradually able to open a gap. In the last half of the race it looked like Paul managed to break free from Jens and he mounted an almighty chase, our laptimes not too dissimilar but usually in favour of Paul and he started to edge closer. Consistency was the key and I concentrated on hitting my braking markers and was able to maintain the lead to the chequered flag ... intense stuff . Congrats to Paul and to my teammate Jens for their podium finishes and many thanks to Jens for his superb setup .
To bad Ramon, that was a alien style qualification lap In qualify I did my personal best, but wasn't enough for better than P5. Tight starting grid, did a good start and found a space between Paul (who must have missed a little) and Csaba. There was a small contact into T1, not sure who did what, but I did not get any damage indicated on my car. Tailed Paul and Bill for the 12 first laps or so when Ramon had backed off, but then slowly the gap got bigger and I did not manage to close it. https://simresults.net/190213-pb1 Big congrats to podium winner and teammate Bill for a race very well done, and Paul, both out of reach this time Next up Oulton Park, great track
Not really my track, other than in Jerez I was not able to surprise in qual but it was stil ok. Right after the start I was in Ramons smoke cloud, but not because of his engine more because he spun his wheels too much. The engine smoke was not that much. As I´m not Colin McRae I did not flat out because I had really doubt to hit someone. So I lost a positon to Ken, gained one from Csaba who was forced wide. Then Ken had a lag and I was in P5. Until Ramons smoking engine caught fire. I was really curious how long he could hang on, maybe I should start to change the cooling too, but better not. In P4 now but with Ken and Csaba right behind me that was no fun, I knew passing was difficult but both seemed faster. But everytime you think to much not doing an error you make one. And that happend but I could hold P5. It was really intense how close Ken, Csaba and I drove to each other.
Right, sorry Ramon then I will rather blame burnout Bill for the smoke Right and luckily he was still faster than me that reduced the smoke for me. But come on Bill, I know a Burnout looks spectacular. However be more gentle to your tyres Congrats to the win by the way.
