Hi there. Is there any chance we could postpone this race so it doesn't overlap with the Grand Prix? Normally I'd do the race and then watch the Grand Prix later, but this is the most important race of my lifetime so I feel compelled to watch it live!
That was a very exciting race. Was great to finally not have connection problems. My new cell phone signal booster really works. My apologies Barrett Erickson for spinning you. I misjudged that breaking zone. I should have done 2 drive throughs as it was a very silly mistake. It was really fun racing with you guys today.
Congratulations to Gert for the race win and championship. And congratulations to Barrett on your podium today
Almost got second place today Mark, well done. I kept going off track on that same corner during the race and qualifying. Very hard to get back on the power going over that hill.
The race replay has now been uploaded https://simracingonline.co.uk/resources/megane-trophy-oulton-park.750/
np Phil. I also had a lot of problems finding the right brake point and turn in with that corner, not the least of which was on the first lap when i realized i'd forgot to reset my TC after the start. It was an absolute blast today running so close with you and Mark the whole way.
It was fun and distracting watching Phil and Barrett banging wheels right in front of me. Lots of action in the beginning. My mouse wasn't working while I tried to join the grid and I clicked Drive just before the green flag. Not a good start. I punted Gert.. sorry dude. But I did the drive thru like a good SRO member It was close racing till then end. I made 2 mistakes on the final lap and Phil and Barrett were there to take advantage. Great racing! Grats to Gert for the championship. I love these cars and look forward to the next series using them. Glad to see your connection issues resolved, Phil. You drove a great race.
Congrats to Gert for the championship. Well deserved. Congrats to the podium. Well deserved as well. Let's just say my BAC levels weren't the greatest. Don't drink and sim... unless you want to laugh a lot..
Had a lot of fun racing these cars. Before the season started I had never driven these cars before, but their so much fun if you get the setup correct. It is also so important to mange these tyres because one lock up and flat spots ruin the complete handling. I found Oulton park very difficult to get the setup the way I liked. The fronts overheated and the rears tend to step out on some of the corners. The race start was not as i hoped to be. Ken passed me on the start and a I caught up again on lap 2 where we touched before the 2nd chicane consequence I ended up in the grass going straight towards the corner marker. Trying to avoid the head on collosion I could just manage to avoid it collected Ken in the proces. A few corners later Mark ran into the back of my car putting me on the grass where I was luckily able to slow it down before the barriers. I saw everybody pass me and had to start my race all over again. A few laps later I caught up and I think it was Phil (Red/Yellow livery) who ran wide in the last corner. I could catch up to Barrett a few laps later and pass him in the long left sweeper at the beginning of the lap. Back in 2nd I had a gap of 10s or so to Caitlin. When Caitlin had a disconnect I was in first and my lead extended... I took it a bit easier to save the tyres and had one scary moment almost losing the rear just before the banked hairpin. Finished first in the end and glad winning a championship again. I really enjoyed this series... Hoped the turn up would be bigger because these are fun cars to race. CU
Congratulations to Gert-Jan on another strong performance to take the overall Driver Championship and thanks once again to all those members who supported the series.
I was really frustrated to have had that disconnection, especially since I haven't had one in a long time and it just had to happen when I had a 10s lead... Oh well. Congrats @Gert-Jan van Osch on the race and the championship! You deserved it.
