    DISCLAIMER: DRIVING PROTO-TYPES

    * If you choose to drive a proto-type in this series, you must realize and accept that in every race you will be held up several times per lap.
    * If you choose to drive a proto-type in this series, you have to respect every other driver on track in any class at any moment (even if you're fighting).
    * If you choose to drive a proto-type in this series, you must realize that the GTE class is your equal on track and does not need to get out of your way.
    * If you choose to drive a proto-type in this series, you must realize that the GTE class is the most difficult of all three classes because they are the slowest.

Question. Was the Fuji race set to 3x as well? I believe not but I might be wrong.

We are in the process of moving to a new server so that might be why they are down for now.

    Servers back up!
Also, be aware this version of Daytona has no cones or track markers to remind you where T1 comes or what line to follow on pit out so be careful & don't get a penilty!~!~:D

    Drivers briefing

    1. This event will be broadcasted
    Broadcast team: EithaRacingTeam
    Broadcasters: Nassim, Lorenzo & Sameer
Twitch broadcast link: www .twitch .tv/eitharacingteam (delete the spaces)

    2. The use of the Esc. key in Qualification
Use of the Esc key during Qualifying is the equivalent of stopping your car and getting out. This may be done only in your pit stall. There are very few exceptions to this rule. Here are the only two we will currently consider. These exceptions are subject to change at any time:
    1. You run out of fuel in pit lane before reaching your pit stall.
    2. You sustain damage to your car as a result of another driver and cannot make it back to your pit stall. You must prove your qualifying session was wrecked by another driver and that you made an attempt to return to pit lane.

If you use the Esc key in any location other than your pit stall, your Qualifying session is over and you may not return to the track.

    3. Daytona Race Conditions
    1) The race will start at 04:00 PM (in-game time of course) and end in the dark.
    2) Time acceleration is: 3 x
    3) The race will be dry from start to finish.
    4) The duration of this race will be 2 hours and 26 minutes (including formation lap).

    4. The race starts with a formation lap. Right after leaving the last corner, we double file in qual order.
    a. When the LMP2 pole-sitter crosses the start-line, the race begins for LMP2;
    b. When the GTE pole-sitter crosses the start-line, the race begins for GTE.

    5. We will hold a 5-second gap between the different classes on the formation lap. If there is trouble ahead on lap one, you have time to react to it.

    6. Each class pole-sitter will do the formation lap approx. 120 km per hour.

    7. The server password will be changed on race day. You can find the password for the race server on the Daytona event page.

    8. Unregistering in time if you can't make it.

    9. You can use the Le Mans Aero Package in this event.

10, You can find the server by first typing
    sro.

    11. Please use the same name in the rFactor 2 game as on our signup list or it won't match in our automated result processing.

    12. Last but not least ... SIMRACINGONLINE wishes you a great race!

I know I’m going to sound like a right old grinch here but……everyone this is a loooooong race. I have no interest in dive bombing back markers or making last second moves for position. Please be patient. The last time we raced here with these cars we lost about seven people in the first ten minutes because of accidents so just remember it’s a longer race than usual.

looking forward to this though, and good luck to everyone. My setup is good I have three strategy options worked out, now I just have to finish! Lol. :)

Quick reminder for anyone racing from the US. The Euro daylight savings time change has not started yet so for players in the 'US time zones' that have changed already (last weekend) this race will start 1 hour later than the normal start time.;)

Thanks for clarification on that, Rob and John.
I was assuming this was the case (start time and such) and I'm on east coast USA, so makes it a bit easier.

Personally, I'm VERY glad the start is 'hour forward' for me. Don't think I could have made the start if it was now.
Rough day, rough week...but, still going to try to do this thing. I'll just try to mind my own biz and fit in where ever my pace places me. Not a lot of practice for this one in particular, but I've done a bunch of endurance racing in P2 and at this track in particular as well, so I should be good to go.....if I can maintain focus, that is. We'll see.

Good luck everyone....should be a good one.

And, finally, I'll add another word about taking it easy at the start and paying attention to the fact this is a longer race. Plenty of time to slot into where pace finds you...let's not force anything so everyone can run their own race and have a good time.

Also, big thanks to our host here (John, SRO, everyone else involved in making it all happen)....and to the broadcast team, who's been doing an excellent job all series making these race a lot more entertaining overall (I love being able to watch the racing and see what everyone was up to post race like we can with a broadcast race. Really brings another element to the whole show, and it's much appreciated!)

Oh! gawd that hurts, Oh! gawd that hurts BIG TIME.
I had been so looking forward to this race; my first 'proper' race - more than two glorious hours of racing; strategy; opponents who hopefully won't just punt me into the nearest barrier; great cars, great track. I was so ready; so prepared, slow, but ready to go. The first stint went okay. In fact things were going surprisingly well; till I came in for my first pit-stop, then it was a case of instant 'brain-fade'. I lifted up my VR headset, to find my drink bottle (as planned) and as I'm about to take a drink, I realise I hadn't actually boxed! The car had still been rolling along pit-lane and in fact, it was now exiting the pits! I had a stop-and-go penalty and not enough fuel to complete another lap! I did in fact make it back to the pits, but just couldn't quite manage, literally, the last few metres to my box.... I had thought about pitting the previous lap, but decided to take advantage of a clear track....
    Congratulations to whoever wins.

Managed to catch the last half hour of the race live on 'twitch.tv/eitharacingteam'.
Congratulations to Johnny and Davide: both had very domineering wins in their respective catogories, was what I was going to say, right up to just 2 minutes from the end of the race! Did Davide hit the wall? Joe Brown flew past, for an absolutely guaranteed victory. Then what? Joe pull's up just short of the line, to allow Davide the win??!!
    Incredible race! Great sportmanship!
Very impressive guys, well done to all three of you.

We've all had something like that happen. I once crashed out of a Road America race because my car drifted into the grass along the front straight (i was reaching for a beer).
