    OULTON PARK

Oulton Park in Cheshire is the second North West track that hosted Formula One races from 1954 to 1972. However, unlike Aintree, this track never hosted an official Grand Prix. Instead, it hosted the Gold Cup, a non-championship event on the F1 calendar.

Once the grounds of Oulton Hall, which burned down in 1926, Oulton Park sits within a beautiful parkland setting as the most picturesque motor racing circuit in the UK.

Oulton Park in the 1950s transformed from war-damaged parkland into a significant motor racing venue, with the Mid-Cheshire Car Club holding the first races in 1953, quickly attracting Formula 1 teams and legends like Stirling Moss, hosting the non-championship International Gold Cup, and featuring early club races and sidecar events on its original, nearly rectangular layout.
