OMG, is this the best free Nürburgring GP model for rF2? I did not know that this track has so many blind corners Especially the last chicane, which btw gives you no cut warning if you don't hit it that well
Ken, is there a reason why my times disappear from the live timing on RF2? They are there and when I log out from the server they disappear. weird.
We use the free version of Livetiming which only shows live timings when someone is on the server and the top three lap times of all laps. Does that explain it?
That T1 had me smile big time. @Kiril Kirilov so close, left little room, still no hassle and was comfortable that no crash will come. Many would overdo it just because it makes you squeeze wheel abit. 1st half behind @Paul Upham who got me on early stages when testing out car, tyrewear and didnt have trust that rears would stick. Finally got by. 2nd half went nice but Kiril was untouchable. And its frustrating if you do those 2.11 times it means one slight mistake cost you half a second so was really tough race and happy to pull it off and keep the pace all the way to the flag beeing mostly consistent. I had lower straight speed, ratios, wings dont know but it was not so nice. On a side note tyrewear was spot on, no trouble there. Took setup from Hungaroring Big shoutout to @Michael Schmiedel who let us both pass in the end stages and settle it without traffic. Thank you.
I had a great, fun, race with Toni and Fabio. I went in to turn 1 sideways about halfway through the race, which turned by tyres white and took off about 8% tyre life all in one go. For the second half, racing Fabio, I was on the knife edge because my tyres would overheat immediately if I pushed, so it was a good lap, then a bad lap, pendulum. It was a great clean race with both Toni and Fabio. Thanks to all for a great series!
Apologies owed to Ben & Neil for my faux-pax under braking for T1. After Neil and I had caught Ben, Neil got through under braking for the final chicane leaving my on the rear bumper of Ben coming onto the front straight. I was half-expecting a team co-ordination from them both so took it up the inside of Ben but couldn't quite slow down enough for Neil who was taking the classic wide line into T1. At least we didn't lose any positions and we both got going again. Before I process the results, i don't think the loss of 5th place affects Neil's 1st place in the series.
That was so much fun Thanks for the great race guys Congrats to my team mate Neil for winning a well deserved Championship
I have to agree with @Toni Talvitie. The start also felt very clean from my seat too. Very good pace towards the end of the race from you, Toni. In the end I had to match the low 11's with used tires so that he didn't get me. The laps were really on the edge. It felt like a very good race on my favorite track model Congratulations to Neil for winning the Championship and Fabio for P2. AND a very good race from my teammate! Thanks and till next time!
This is the link to the race from my POV in Youtube. I didn't really do much talking as RFactor2 slidey cars seem to take up all my concentration Ben
It was really hard to convince myself to go racing in VR in this hot summer evenning, but I'm gald I did at the end In first part it was really fun with Gerhard and Philip and there were nice battles and overtakings. Then we stayed just two with Philip, but I was not able to keep the pace with him. In second part I was alone on the track and loosing focus and time. At the end I was glad to be able to stay in front of Ed, who was every lap faster Congratulation to race and series winners!! Even I was not really fan of this Nissan, there were good races in the series and I enjoyed it. Thanks Ken for all the effort and organizing it! I'm looking forward for upcomming LMP Tuesdays. I'll try to attend as much as I can during holidays
Well well well... fate threw everything at me yesterday!! Stream VOD For the 6th round of the Historic F3 Cup and this round I was sitting in a new simrig, with a new DD wheel. I still haven't got everything setup correctly. My driving position is off and the wheel is not to my liking yet. Started practice and I saw the laptimes I was severely off pace. I knew I was better chasing cars in the race but I was definitely down the order. I had worked out the points so I know what I needed from the race. I saw that my championship contender @Fabio Lozio wasn't in the server at that time so I just knew I needed a finish. Did I jinx it? Everything was going OK until a few minutes before qually.... BAM.... powercut!! Stream goes down, I sit there in the dim light from outside wondering if I tripped it, the building could be out, perhaps the whole street?! How long for?!?! Electrics come back on and qually has started, I get the stream going as quick as possible and I have time to set ONE lap in qually! PHEW!!!! Down the order and now needing to score points because Fabio was now in the server, I went to the grid. "Wheel feels a bit loose" I thought. Errrr.... no FFB?!?!? Here is me in a VR headset on the grid reaching for my reset FFB key on the keyboard to no avail. I think "Screw it!" and just take the green light. It feels alien with no feel so I am so careful through the first few turns. I needed a straight to try and get the FFB back. Reaching for FFB reset on the straights was not ideal. Then I remember I have voice attack commands! I try saying "reset ffb".... nothing.... I say it again "reset ffb".... then suddenly it springs back into life! I CAN FEEL THINGS!!!!!! Then began a back and forth battle with first @Kostas Kantzouras and then @Ken Jagger. I didn't need those places, but I wanted to make extra sure with a points buffer. It was so hard to pass on this track with all the left right combinations. Up the inside on one and be on the outside for the next. I was struggling so much in T1, I could not find a braking point at all. It was fine when I had a car in front, but when I got clear air I was a little lost. Then began to chase my team mate in 5th. I managed to catch him and send one up the inside. Next lap I had Ken send one up the inside of @Ben Summers and I was already braking for T1 and I could see in my peripheral a red car getting ever closer then BAM!!! I got going again wishing and hoping I still had a rear wing!!!! PHEW!!! I then did my best to catch up with Ben and we were able to do a formation team finish for the championship!! Consistency seems to pay off, I have liked these cars from previous series I have run in. But changing simrigs and wheel setups before the final round is not recommended!!!
Yeah. If you will, this was now the third different track variant from the Nürburgring within a few weeks. (At least for those who have also driven the AC series). So slowly is time for something different, whereby the north and south loop are still missing somehow or the old GP track with the other first sector. Anyway, my race was rather unspectacular. I believe with my holiday rig, it was way harder to brake, because the linear brake pedal makes it harder to find the right application. I lost a ton of time in the first few laps until I finally passed Gerhard. Nothing new, passing cars is difficult with this car, although I thought it might be easy to be chased by a car. No really, good job Patrik, your pressure kept me working. Congrats to the champs and thanks to all competitors.
Congratulations on winning the Drivers Championship for Neil Wood and also in taking the double whammy of the Teams Championship with Ben Summers for Dr Pepper Fueled Motorsports. Very well done guys
