    A little history
Silverstone Circuit was first used for motorsport by an ad hoc group of friends who set up an impromptu race in September 1947. One of their members, Maurice Geoghegan, lived in nearby Silverstone village and was aware that the airfield was deserted. He and eleven other drivers raced over a two mile circuit, during the course of which Geoghegan himself ran over a sheep that had wandered onto the airfield. The sheep was killed and the car written off, and in the aftermath of this event, the informal race became known as the Mutton Grand Prix.:D

Only 10 points separate the top 3 drivers with the series one title on the line!

Rogerio Santos [IMG] GT3 RGS Racing> points 132
Taner Selvi [IMG] GT3 Sim Racers Turkey> points 127
Mark Johnson [IMG] GT3 Legends Racing> points 122
with 7+ other drivers within 20 points of a podium!
It's going to be a tight finish!

    What's next?
Series 2 will follow in a few weeks after a special* 'in-between the series'
'one-off' event in the Saturday time slot
*24hrs of spa (3hr event using time excel for the day/night transition)
Reminder: The 2021 SRO ACC GT3 Championship consists of 4 series over 12 months.
Each series will have a champion with an additional overall champion to be crowned in December.
    Make every race count!

This should be a very exciting finish to series 1 ! lots of positions up for grabs. Lets all remember to keep our heads on strait ~!~:D. & remember the lap one zero contact rule.
I want to commend you, the drivers for providing a clean and fair racing experience for series one. (with a few exceptions lol  after all it is racing not knitting ...:p. )
As stated above this is only the end of series one! We will have a short break in-between series one & two with a special event >The 24hrs. Of Spa! a 3hr mini endurance race using time eccel to simulate the 24hr day/night cycle. Registration is now open .

Series two of the 2021 ACC GT3 Championship will be starting Saturday April 17th with a new set of 6 races & with new format regarding race lengths & pit stops to be reveled after the Spa event!;)

A gain in positions to be had all the way down :)
Been a great series again, though shame numbers have nearly halved despite the entry list :( Perhaps the new tracks will bring some drivers back in S2 :)

Hmm in all my online races i don't seem to remember driving the Aston around here much. Feels a little like Barcelone being a mix of fast and slow corners. The Default setup is quite stiff for the high speed corners but was hurting a bit, a softer setup allowed me to go 2secs quicker but will it cope for a stint...

Any chance of a thread to discuss the Spa event?

Once again the track variation is hurting me a bit, car just wasnt planted anywhere espcially the slow speed stuff and subsequently my top speeds felt a little lower as i wasnt needing to take 6th as i was before. So bit frustrated to only be 9th or so and my usual sparing partner Mark 0.5sec quicker. So was desperate enough to change the car before the race. Not sure if they really helped or not, i've lost the feel for the car.

Spent most of the first stint chasing a couple of Astons with a few behind! Have people changed cars! never seen so many Astons! I thought i was about 8h then all of a sudden i was in 3rd with Mark in first only 2secin fron. Then spent most of that time chasing both hard.
Anoth decent pitstop but i was pushing the entry really hard and ws convinced i had a drive through. But came out right behind Mark! lol. Well i knew i never had the pace and could see those behind came back through so wasnt planning on defending much but then Alex hardly made an easy job of it! IF he had planned it better i'm sure he could have caught Mark, my focus was just about staying in front of Rogerio which i managed to the end. Never thought i'd be picking podiums up in this series!

Been a real test this series as i've never done much 60min+ races before or done any real ACC driving before, only the public servers. Thanks for allowing me in.
Looking forward to the rest of the year. Though 3hours at Spa allmost feels like punishement! ;)

By my bad maths its a tie for the championship between Mark and Rogerio?

Congrats - to everyone in this series - nice racing - 1st lap no major incident!
tbh. today again for me, a quite bad day! Once again I had midpack pace - but it was the first time GT3 in Silverstone for me and I just had 1h practice - so imagine what happened...
First laps went smooth but I felt my consistency was not good enough, then chased down by Simon down some corners after some nice wheel to wheel battles I did a mistake which ended in flat spotted tires. Those caused me to spin at least two more several times.
After the stop I found my pace back again with high 2:02 - which was for me - but my lack of practice and consistency sent me right into the back of the field.
Anyway - I enjoyed to the series a lot - and if I am not wrong I think I may end up to be in the series Top10 ;)
    cya next season,
    cheers Christian

Congratulations to everyone for the race and the competition ... Today a DT (of the first 4), took away the possibility of having won the championship (by my accounts it was tied) and one more foul in the second stage ...

But the series was great, fun guaranteed ... Now let's wait for the next one ... Congratulations to the organization ...

Well, i was with high expectations for this one, has it was my first ACC race.
When i realised that it was so much thing on the table for general classification, my first thinking was not to disturb it, but with 33 registrated drivers, i knew i could have some fun back there not "hurting" the championship.
did some laps in practice and tried to manage a setup with the Aston, but didnt figure it out.
The race started well, and surprisingly i was six place and then fifth, seeing a nice batle for the fisrt.
After some laps, my pace was not the same anymore. Dont know if i blew the tires or if a small hit that someone gave me damage or not the car, but went to laps above 2.04 (!!??)
Started to lose positions to faster guys that were coming behind and got myself at 10th position has i couldnt deal with anyone :-((
All by myself, did the pitstop and hopping that tires came to the rescue, but even so they didnt.
I was getting on my nerves not to achive the previous laps i did and alone (where were the 33 drivers???) at 10th place, just pited and gave up.
Thank you all for the race even so and hope you gyus had fun.

    You are correct!
    we have a tie!
    Congrats, Co-Champions!

1 Mark Johnson [IMG] GT3 Legends Racing 162
2 Rogerio Santos [IMG] GT3 RGS Racing 162

The way the 2021 season championship works is all your points from series one, two, three & four will carry over to the final tally added up after the final series (series 4)
Remember every point counts & don't forget you get fastest lap points (1) in Q & R!
Also, all drivers joining the non-points special events will each receive 1 point towards the championship to be tallied at the end.
So for example, if you sign up for the 3hr Spa special event you will be awarded 1 championship point just for participating.

(see the soon to come special event forum for more details)

I almost forgot! Top 3 from each series will receive additional bonus points for their podium finishes> 3,2,1. In this case, because of a tie, both Mark & Rogerio will receive 3 bonus points for the 1st place tie, Mark Ekins will receive 2 bonus points, and because of the 1st place tie, Alex Sander will receive 1 for the 3rd podium spot.
