Sign up here WELCOME TO ROUND 7 ABU DHABI The Yas Marina Circuit is the venue for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The circuit was designed by Hermann Tilke, and is situated on Yas Island, near Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Yas Marina was the second of four Formula One tracks in the Middle East, with the first being in Bahrain and subsequent tracks in Qatar and Saudi Arabia. A two-day GP2 Asia Series test was held to officially open the circuit, which was held a week before the 2009 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. It also hosted V8 Supercars between 2010 and 2012, with the event being the opening round in 2010 and 2011. Outside motorsport the circuit was used for the final stage of the inaugural Abu Dhabi Tour cycle race in 2015. The circuit has an FIA Grade 1 license. The circuit is located on Yas Island, a headland that was cut off from the mainland by a canal. It has sixteen corners and several straights, and passes by the marina and through the Yas Hotel Abu Dhabi designed by New York-based architects Hani Rashid and Lise Anne Couture of Asymptote Architecture with a facade lighting design by Rogier van der Heide. The circuit has five grandstand areas (Main Grandstand, West Grandstand, North Grandstand, South Grandstand, and Marina Grandstand) and part of its pit lane exit runs underneath the track. It also houses a team building behind the pit building, Media Center, Dragster Track and VIP Tower. Additionally, one of the run-off areas runs underneath the West grandstand. This changed when the previous turns 4, 5 and 6 were redesigned and the previous turns 11, 12 and 13 were also reconfigured in time for the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Hi Rocco, We will use the modern 2023 layout of Yas Marina Circuit without the chicanes. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3073759009 (On the sign up page there is still the 2019 Abu Dhabi, but that one will be replaced soon by the link above.)

Drivers briefing First of all ... Please make sure that you are in the 2023 car and NOT the 2022 car. 1. All 7 events of this series will be broadcasted Broadcast team: EithaRacingTeam Broadcasters: Lorenzo, Sameer & Ricardo Twitch broadcast link: https://www . twitch . tv / eitharacing (delete the spaces) Or go to the headlines on top of the homepage on race day. 2. Yas Marina event settings 1) The race will start at 05:00 PM (in-game time of course) 2) Time acceleration is normal. Fuel and Tires are set to normal. 3) Cut Track points are set to 10 4) 100% damage 5) You have to change to a different tire compound (soft/medium/hard) at least once during the race, unless it rains. Then tirechoice is free. 6) This event has a Formation lap with a standing start. 3. Real F1 Raceday weather conditions apply We will simulate, as best as the server allows, the weather conditions as they were at the actual F1 event. Event conditions: Practice = starts in daylight and transitioning to dark Qual = in the dark Warmup = in daylight Race = Timescale normal / starting time 05:00 PM / starts in daylight / after 45 minutes totally dark. Weather = Dry / 27 degrees at the start and 26 degrees towards the finish. Wind = N/W 10 km/h 4. Qualification procedure 1) You do not have to start the race on the same tire that you qualified with. 2) The Qual time will be 15 minutes in total. 3) Chat is not allowed during Qual. 5. The use of the Esc. key in Qualification Use of the Esc key during Qualifying is the equivalent of stopping your car and getting out. This may be done only in your pit stall. There are very few exceptions to this rule. Here are the only two we will currently consider. These exceptions are subject to change at any time: 1. You run out of fuel in pit lane before reaching your pit stall. 2. You sustain damage to your car as a result of another driver and cannot make it back to your pit stall. You must prove your qualifying session was wrecked by another driver and that you made an attempt to return to pit lane. If you use the Esc key in any location other than your pit stall, your Qualifying session is over and you may not return to the track. 6. You can find the password for the race server on the Yas Marina event page. Check the driver / team list below to see what car you are assigned to. 7. You can find the server by first typing sro 8. Unregistering in time if you can't make it. 9. Please use the same name in the rFactor 2 game as on our signup list or it won't match in our automated result processing. 10. If you plan to PROTEST another driver, you have to wait 24 hours counting from the end of the race. Any protest filed before that time will be viewed as not received. You can find the rules about submitting a protest here. Last but not least ... SIMRACINGONLINE wishes you a great race! *************************************************** If you have questions, please ask them below.
Glitch in the Matrix when I crashed . Thanks for a great season everyone. Have a great holiday season as well!!
I apologize, but there is no broadcast of tonight's event. Apparently, the broadcast team got the date wrong since this was a re-scheduled event.
Probably for the best John, I did my best to throw it all away with a 60 second penalty and collision with a sideways car. Anyway, thank you for the series, it was great, kept me hooked and wanting more. I was by no means the quickest racer and it's been a pleasure to be have the challenge of some really fast sim racers. @Nick Westy can turn on mega hot race laps at will and @Daniel Kristow just never slows down, ever. Everyone in the series improved pace and consistency over the course and we're all better for it.
great championship, the most fun so far at SRO, these cars are awesome. Congrats to Tim for taking the championship by 8 points proving that you don't always have to be the fastest but you do need to be the most consistent. I made too many mistakes over the season despite my speed, contact at albert park, drive through at silverstone, crashing at zandvoort and suzuka which cost me the championship in the end but thanks to my team mate robin we took the teams championship at least. Thanks to john for putting on a really great series and the guys at eitha for the broadcast which made it even more fun. hope everyone has a great Christmas, and see you all again in January.
Good race and little bad series for me as was mostly collecring disqualifyings and mostly for reasons that were not my fault. Well have to admit I would have enjoyed watching that stream. Only troubles i had was when lighting was changing at start. Other rhan that was perfect.
Great series, Thanks to John for hosting again, always a well organised championship, It's a shame it's over though with many other classic F1 tracks out there, Congrats Toni for the win and Congrats to Tim for the championship. Good job from eitha also on the broadcast. Nice to wrap up another Teams championship
THANKS FOR PROVIDING A LEAGUE ENVIRONMENT, CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CHAMPIONS AND TEAM CHAMPIONS AS A FORMER SIM F1 RACER, I HAD A DIFFICULTY IN ADAPTING TO THE RF2 AND THESE NEW QUICK DROP TIRES DURING THE RACE. AND I NEED TO GET USED TO RF2 A LITTLE MORE AND EXPERIENCE IN MAKING LESS TIRED TIRES WITH A FULL TANK. AT TIMES I COULD NOT REACH MY LIMITS IN THE LEAGUE, BUT I ENJOYED THEM THROUGHOUT THE LEAGUE I HOPE THERE WILL BE F1 LEAGUE AGAIN THANKS. cem Eleanor. ALSO IT WAS EXCITING TO RIDE AGAIN WITH MY VERY OLD COMPETITOR AND FRIEND KOSTAS THANKS.
Gilles, you are getting the compliments of our series sponsor Aptora for that pic. They like it a lot.
