Unfortunately I have to unregister for this event due to in house renovation which requires me to disassemble my sim rig. I promised Jos to share my setup see attachement. Do not know if this suits your systems or driving styles, but feel free to try it. rename to .svm

Hi everyone. I thought the race start time was later and showed up late. Wasn't prepared is all. This late 60s formula car mod is great!!! I hope to see another series with them soon.

I'd love to do another series in the historic F3 car, although I think we need a break from Spa!
Thanks for the series though. Congrats @Jos Ogos !

Congrats @Jos Ogos on the great victory. You achieve a top speed of 231.8 km /h wow !!!.
Same to you @Caitlin Penny ...congrats...I couldn't keep up with your race pace, even though you would have a damaged suspension after your accident.

    Thanks all!
Unfortunately, I destroyed my video recording files from yesterday's race so no video today :(.
It's a shame because those initial laps with @Peter Jones and @Caitlin Penny were really good. Particularly the duel with Caitlin. The only way to break free from the slipstream in Spa and the F3s is by making the most of any gap that appears and goes over the 0.9/1 secs threshold. Caitlin and I were approaching Stavelot with a good slipstream. I was in front, Caitlin removed herself from the draft and started to run in parallel in the interior of the track. We reached Stavelot together and, with the F3, throwing the dice of keeping the throttle for longer perhaps with the expectation of forcing a gap that could become the initial crack to break the dreaded slipstream (your own). I think we were running an aggressive but respectful race. Earlier in the race, we did the same at La Corriere and I almost lost it altogether.
I managed to open the wished few tents and then delivered the smoothest of all possible laps. No mistakes, just keeping the pace... And Voila! I was breaking away. Then Caitlin had her incident in the next Stavelot and, with that, I secured the race.

Thanks to @Gert-Jan van Osch for his fantastic setup. I see what he did there. It requires much smoother handling than what I had but, with the right technique, it delivers a faster lap. I reduced my times in 1 sec, breaking into the 4:16 top times done by Gert-Jan in previous races (leaving aside the 4:15 with that slipstream strategy he managed in the previous qualy session/last race). I'd love to see your F2 and F1 setups as well :p.

Thanks to @Ken Jagger for setting this up and everyone that raced on this series, and looking forward to more in the future (although just one Spa perhaps in each series?).

Yesterday was my third SRO champ in three days in a row: Best Fantasy tracks on Friday, Palatov D4 on Saturday, and Classic Formula Festival on Sunday... I'm exhausted :p... It'll be a while before the next one come  but I'm happy with this cycle

    See you all soon.
    Jos

Congrats Jos, with the winning streaks of championships. Your consistency is super. That is a point where I have to improve... Unfortunately my chances minimized after the disco in the first round (probably due to the custom livery I made). Otherwise it could have been a close battle all the way.

A summary of my campaign. There were ups and downs. The ups were the fast qualifying and the wins in the different series... The downs were the incidents with Maddie and the personal mistakes I made in the F1 series and of course the disconnect in the first F3 race, which made me almost quit playing rFactor 2 after spending a lot of time preparing for race 1.

Although this was an intense and tumultuous series I agree with @Caitlin Penny that we need a break from Spa. Thanks to @Ken Jagger for putting the series on the calendar after the historic F3 challenge. These cars are very exciting and a blast to drive when having a great setup.

Now spring is starting I will have a spring and summer break of simracing since I have a lot of other things to do and will rejoin again in Q4 when I have a new PC (hopefully GPUs are available by then).

    CU all in the fall...

    Kind regards, Gert-Jan

In a sense, this series with these cars reminded me of another series in which I participated and had a lot of fun, with the race07 simulator in R2P with the Caterham 7 model (There are a mod in workshop) , on English circuits. If you like vintage cars, I propose a series with these English cars, at the same time on Sundays.
