I have never driven on this track. and Im glad it is. one of the most illogical, non-fluid and uninteresting tracks.
I tried to learn track for 30 minutes and I realized that it really annoys me.
Im sorry guys. dont know who really likes tracks like this.
good luck everyone for the weekend

I disagree Sanio. I've had a few of my best races here and think the track has a lot to offer. I would advise you to keep going round until the track reveals its secrets to you.
30 minutes is really not enough to grow into the track if it's your first time here. It would also take away from the action at the front if you are not there. Please sleep on it :)

well, i think that about all Tilke design tracks, but they're hard to avoid, so i just take 'em as they come and consider them part of the periodic punishment for being a dedicated sim-racer.

    Drivers briefing

    1. This event will be broadcasted
    Broadcast team: EithaRacingTeam
    Broadcasters: Nassim, Lorenzo & Sameer
Twitch broadcast link: https://www . twitch . tv / eitharacing (delete the spaces)
Or go to the headlines on top of the homepage.

    2. The use of the Esc. key in Qualification
Use of the Esc key during Qualifying is the equivalent of stopping your car and getting out. This may be done only in your pit stall. There are very few exceptions to this rule. Here are the only two we will currently consider. These exceptions are subject to change at any time:
    1. You run out of fuel in pit lane before reaching your pit stall.
    2. You sustain damage to your car as a result of another driver and cannot make it back to your pit stall. You must prove your qualifying session was wrecked by another driver and that you made an attempt to return to pit lane.

If you use the Esc key in any location other than your pit stall, your Qualifying session is over and you may not return to the track.

    3. Austin GP Conditions
    1) The race will start at 05:30 PM (in-game time of course)
    2) Time acceleration is 3 x. Fuel and Tires are set to normal.
    3) The race will start in daylight and end in the night.
    4) Cut Track points are set to 15
    5) This race has 100% damage
    6) Pole Points: 1 / Fast Lap Points: 1
    7) Enter the pitlane in 1st gear when you select the pit limiter, or you might go over the speed limit and get a penalty.
    8) Because of possible related issues with screen freezing when people who use the LM aero package leave the server during an event, the LM aero package can not be used in this series from now on.

    4. Formation lap and rolling start.
Right after leaving the last corner, we double file in qual order. When the pole-sitter crosses the start line, the race begins.

    5. The pole-sitter will do the formation lap approx. 120 km per hour.

    6. The server password will be changed on race day. You can find the password for the race server on the Austin event page.

    7. If you have to do a drive-through penalty, you have to do it
at the end of the first racing lap.
That means the first racing lap AFTER the formation lap.

    8. Unregistering in time if you can't make it.

    9. No-shows (keeping the entry list real)

If a driver does not show without unregistering for that event or letting us know that he can't make it on the event forum, he will be removed from the series.
If he is no longer interested in the series, it's fine like it is.
If he forgot about the event, he can sign up for the series again.

(You don't have to unregister for the whole series. You can unregister only for the event you can't do.)

    10. You can find the server by first typing sro

    11. Please use the same name in the rFactor 2 game as on our signup list or it won't match in our automated result processing.

    12. Last but not least ... SIMRACINGONLINE wishes you a great race!

    Good news people . . . . I won't be taking part in tonight's race.
Partly due to last minute rescheduling of other commitments, but also partly because I agree with Sanio :)
Unfortunately my Santa-mobile will have to wait for another year :-(
If I don't see you before Christmas, it's probably because we live in different parts of the world and I don't know what you look like anyway :D
So . . . who wants to be last?

I always liked COTA but I think the track limits are to strict. I get penalties when I clearly have tires on the white line. I feel like its an ongoing issue and I think it will have an impact on how much I race rf2 in the future, unfortunately.

Ive have had micro lag with steering wheel whole year! lol. Got it fixed now.
Apparently reason being while trying to reduce fps and make computer less stressfull, it has managed fps and and done stupid things.
So i reseted all settings and just took everything off from Radeon panel and much better. When i turn wheel, it turns on screen same time, not with a damn delay.
Still rusty but feels much better when found reason why felt im sucking whole year.
Q 1st time trying softs and smooth lap.
R at start forgot engine at safetycar mode so that made things difficult. dentella's tyres wore out 1st so time to attack and guess there was little hits here and there. 1st one left me dented wheel abit, not sure how that affected driving but felt like it made left front wore out much quicker.
Think the key on this track was that left front and not to push that twin-righthander in the end parts of the track and ofc play it smooth in s'es. So managing left front 92minutes.
At last 15 minutes it was totally wrecked.
Thanks John for series yet again and broadcast team. Leaves memories to the internets. Maybe next year i get to shake this rust off a bit but work sucks so probably not.

    cheers all

Bravo Johnny, you deserved it. It's a shame that Toni missed several races and had hardware problems. I congratulate the admins and the eitha racing team commentators, a great comment adds considerable value to the championship. Thanks everybody

Good racing everyone. Thank you to the announcers for being there with us. Congrats Toni for the win. Great racing from Matteo. Couldn't expect nothing less from the two guys up front. Wasn't my race. I was into it but at the same time I wasn't if that makes sense. I was forgetting where I was on the track. Discombobulated. Watching the two in front of me duke it out, I would fall into a trance. The cut tracks were harsh. The stewards were really on it this time. On a side note, if you spin, and you come to a complete stop sideways, don't start hitting the gas on to the racing line. . My car was pretty much crab walking after this. Not fun racing like this.

I want to thank Barrett and Gilles for making their paint jobs for my Porsche. They did an awesome job. I'm going to have to learn to makes these.
Thank you John for having us.

    Cheers all.

Sorry for forgetting to set the time acceleration guys. The night must have looked pretty bright to you all ...

Grats to Johnny Gutierrez on winning the GTE drivers championship and to Bad Voices Racing for winning the team championship.
Special thanks to the Broadcast team EithaRacingTeam who did a fantastic job bringing the races to us with excellent commentary.

Sorry, that I had to drop out of the series because of a tear in my shoulder tendon. I have to take some rest to let it heal and I will also take a sabbatical for a few months from my admin duties. I'm taking a vacation after 6 years of duty. When my shoulder is good for action again, I hope to see you all back on track in another great series.

Thank you for your continuous support and see you all later ;)

You and me both, Thomas. In practice the setup gave me pretty consistent times and predictable tyre wear, but that didn't translate in to the race. Very dissappointing.

I also had a really good feeling in training - but that then evaporated in the race.
