WELCOME TO THE USF 2000 AWESOME CLUB TRACK SERIES

The reason this series is called "Awesome Club Track Series", is because the tracks listed in this series (with the exception of Goodwood maybe) are not generally known by the majority of sim racers. They are only rarely used for online sim-racing and mostly driven in private off-line sessions by a handful of drivers. Not because the tracks are bad, but because the tracks are simply not on the radar of most sim drivers. But these chosen club tracks of this series are, as described in the title, truly awesome.

And what better car to race them with, than the 5-star rated USF 2000 mod. This mod has been used many times for online racing because of its high-quality physics and racing pleasure.

    Car info
The Cooper Tires USF2000 Series an accessible American open wheel series officially sanctioned by INDYCAR, is a popular proving ground for ambitious drivers wanting to progress to the next level.

The USF2000 car, powered by Mazda, from Van Diemen is an excellent entry-level low-downforce car. It’s grippy, yet nimble. While it can be tail happy at times, it remains catchable and is always rewarding to throw around. We’ve enjoyed some very close, smile-on-your-face, wheel-to-wheel racing testing out the limits of the USF2000. Daring overtakes and massive trail braking really show off it’s capabilities.

The 2016 spec USF2000 uses Van Diemen/Elan DP08 chassis and is powered by Mazda's MZR 2 liter, 4 cylinder DOHC engine with fuel-injectors, tuned by Elite Engines to 170 hp thus capable of achieving a top speed of about 150 mph.

The car is available in two classes: the Championship class with a 5 speed sequential gearbox, and the slightly lower tier National class, with two transmission choices – the 5 speed (same as in the Championship class, but with a 50 lb weight penalty) and an older, 4 speed H-shifter variant available with three different final ratios.

    Formation lap & Standing start
    How does each race start?
    1. The race starts with a formation lap.
    2. At the end of the formation lap, you lock into your red square for a standing start.
    3. At the green light, the race starts.

    ****************************************************************

No-shows (keeping the entry list real)
If a driver does not show without unregistering for that event or letting us know that he can't make it on the event forum, he will be removed from the series.
If he is no longer interested in the series, it's fine like it is.
If he forgot about the event, he can sign up for the series again.

(You don't have to unregister for the whole series. You can unregister only for the event you can't do.)

    ****************************************************************

No Esc. on track rule in Qualification
In qualification, you can not press Escape (Esc.) while on track (if you crash) and then go back out again.
If you want to do another run, you have to come into the pits first.

This is to protect the other drivers from someone taking abnormal risks to set a good lap time and crashing (other cars).

    ****************************************************************

    Teamspeak

Teamspeak is one of the features of Sim Racing Online.
If you would like to hook up with other drivers on Teamspeak before the race (or any time), here is the forum link for the SRO Teamspeak address and password:
    https://www.simracingonline.co.uk/threads/teamspeak-ip-address-password.19/

For those who are not familiar with Teamspeak, you need to add the Sim Racing Online channel to your "bookmarks".

    ****************************************************************

    Maximum number of drivers

The maximum field for all 6 events = 30 drivers.

    ****************************************************************

You can find more detailed information about the race itself on the event page of each race.

Please consider making a small monthly donation between € 2 to € 5,- to help us with the monthly server costs.
Remember that Sim Racing Online is run by a private group of people, paying everything out of their own pockets.
    Thanks in advance !! :)

It would be nice to have unique cars. As I will be broadcasting this (not SRO official), I like to replace in game teams with the SRO teams. This helps @Rob Milliken to also keep things up to date for the official SRO broadcast. This gets displayed in the starting grid and official results. This can only be done with custom skins if they are dropped in the appropriate folder and not the create virtual driver method. This isn't mandatory, it's a "would be nice if" scenario.

Please choose your skin by 22nd September please.

I have created a guide to help you install custom skins if you will be using them.

    Here are the choices:

Is there a performance difference between Championship and National?

    To answer your question;

I'm guessing the 5 speed is quicker - but does the weight penalty negate the difference?
I quite like the idea of the simplicity of the 4 speed!

I guess the answer is to learn the track, then try out all 3 options!

Open wheelers are like buses - you wait ages for one, then 3 come along together :D
Hey John, I'm sure it's mentioned somewhere (probably in big, bright, bold letters) but how long are the races?

    :D Another great metafor ...
All events are 30 minutes with a formation lap and standing start. Look in the upper right corner under "Event details".
