I was getting texture errors when entering the server and once in I couldn't see the cockpit just a set of grey wheels. I run in DX7 mode as I was having difficulties with stuttering graphics at some tracks this mod requires DX9. Also I found that if I ran up rF1 and a different mod was loading in my case F1 1978 LE mod and I simply selected the Scirocco mod and went onto the server the same problem occurred even though I was in DX9 mode. I had to exit the game and launch it again.
It an old recommendation from wayback that after selecting a different car mod, it's advisable to exit and restart rFactor. Thanks for the reminder about that Paul.
