Guys My replays are in 4k ..so even at highest setting I only get 30 min so it has the finish but not the start lol .... If you have it Roy send it to me & I will have it up lickity~split in the replay link for the event ..!
My promise to myself was that the novice plates come off when I win a race on pace. This was strategic trickery. But hey, a podium's a podium...
Ok, so here we go again. Race report: Spa-Francorchamps, what can I say. What a track! In free practise Sean showed he was fast o this track. For some strange reason I was not able to do the laptimes I can normaly do on this track. 2.32.700 was my fasted when I can "easily" do 2.32.000. Weird. Maybe I should check for some hidden weight in the car Qualifying: Since Sean had shown he was fast here and me unable to do a good lap I was worried I couldn't get pole. But it seamed Sean couldn't get a good lap in either, so I took pole with a 2.32.968 Relatively slow. Larry had a commendable 3rd spot. Race: Spa has one corner that can cause problems, La Source. And let that just be the 1st corner. That's why I asked everyone to be very carefull. Start! Had a fairly good getaway. Sean did aswell. Kinda covered the corner so Sean couldn't take the inside. Worked out well, and it looked like everyone got through without bumping into eachother. Nice! Next "mission" was to see that he couldn't take advantage of the tow down the Kemmel straight. I had a good line through the Radillion having just enough of a lead for Sean not to get a to big of a tow. Once I got through Les Combes I knew that I could keep Sean at bay. He did have me worried for the first 4 laps as I wasn't creating the gap I was expecting. But then on lap 5 he lost about 1.5 seconds. My next target was to get a gap of 26 seconds on Pasha (newcomer to the series) because I knew he wouldn't do a pitstop. Despite me being faster than him it would be better to leave the pit before him, saving me the bother of passing him. Took the pitstop on schedule and got out in 3rd. The gap to Mert was at the time of leaving the pit 1.8 seconds. I caught up to him at the karting. Getting a tow down Blanchimont I got beside him at the Busstop. I wondered why he wasn't putting up more of a fight, but he wanted to pit. Made sense. Only Sean to contend with now. He had a 13 second lead, but still had to pit (I hoped). He did so on the next lap. But I don't know what happened, but it seamed his pitstop took way to long. He came out in 3rd. With only a few laps to go and nobody near me I had no worries anymore. Result, Roy 1st, Pasha 2nd, Sean 3rd. Haven't looked at the replay yet, but it looks like everyone had a good race. And the "newcomer" already made a name for himself by finishing 2nd. Well done all. With Hakan not showing up it now is a 3 way fight for 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the series. Donington promises to be a hot one

I'm not an admin, but I will certainly try to get some folk in. And chances are there will be 2 or 3 extra bodies for series 3
Yes Roy has been working over time on getting us some more drivers for these SEATS ! Thx Roy ! The race ...Man Spa … nothing else needs to be said ! epic track . Seeing the times during the week I knew there would be some close fights in the mid field .. I was right ! See in the pic The battle from 8th with 3rd place still in view .. this was after 10 min in ! .. It was a lap after lap nail biter ! From lap 1 on we had a 3-4 car war train pushing & using max concentration for every move ,we were flexing in our strong sections, could each build a gap if we had clean Air but we all managed to end up together in the slower sections ! You Can see the gap to Pasha on his no stop strategy .. I think we spent so much time fighting each other we could not close in on him but we did keep him in sight Finally after some intense defending I bobbled in the last turn & Karl got a good run on me & made a nice pass on the outside taking 6th behind Salvatore so I settled into 7th .. That put me behind 5th place Salvatore who had been defending from me for the entire race ! lap after lap of intense bumper chasing action , and now 6th place Karl who was on my ass the whole time ;-).. v I was kind of glad to have a break as I watched the 2 of them start to tango .. Let them duke it out for a few while I cool my tires & try to re group .. I had a few good runs on Salvatore and he defended beautifully ,it was intense , hard breaking at times as we had different break points but fair and clean all the way ;-) great racing Thx ! < I felt I could get a gap if I could get around him but I could never use the extra momentum I gained to my advantage from some good defending .. I followed in 7th for a few laps gaining on them as they battled to once again close the gap by now Larry with his start from pit lane had me plenty worried he caught up early on as the 3 of us battled for 5th behind Karl in 8th ,you can see his gap in the picks above after 10 min of racing! .. ..he must be hauling ass .. ! lol That's when it happened …. From the exit of T1 to the bottom of the rouge Salvatore and Karl had a door to door drag race with Karl trying to make his move on the inside I knew there was not room for 2 cars so I prepared for the worst ! IDK exactly what happened or what either one of them were thinking but what happened next looked as if Karl made a move from the inside line to set himself up for the first uphill right at the rouge ,at that time Salvatore is still ahead and is about to position his car for the apex of the same turn ..??? again I have no idea ..All I know is 2 cars cannot share the same place on track .. psyx will not allow this lol .. OMG Air borne ! Larry & I some how made it threw ..I thing Salvatore's car was in the air still as I went by Not the place to play chicken guys ! lol In my eyes Karl if it were me I would have backed off at that point , Salvatore clearly still had the advantage up to the commitment point of the next turn .. I felt real Bad for Salvatore ,he was fighting clean and hard .. These things happen in all racing .. race incidents that rip your heart out … sometimes we just have to take it on the chin ..& have a drink & kiss the girls ! after all its still just a form of entertainment ..I did not see any intent to punt but that move to the right by Karl (see replay) seems like he spilt his coffee on his lap or something ?? lol or needed to set up the apex ..? do tell ..? Its hard even with apps in place to show the other cars positions its still challenging w/o VR , you know that point where your view is past the other cars door is still just a guessing game .. just remember to live another day sometimes you have to be safer than sorry .. at least until the last lap ! Not long after that 6th place finally out paced me & took 5th .. we kept pressing on .. Then after all this, look up ahead …. I could still see good old Pasha saving the planet with his fossil fuel saving strategy ! The gaps were dropping but the difference is … I was going to be about 7L short ! hah ..I don't have any fuzzy bunny slippers I have what I call BigToeRacing and was going to need to pit regardless .. In practice I had it down to finish I would need to add at least 7 L , this takes up the same time at 4 new tires as well only the tires are cold & it would be 2 laps of hard racing & maybe racing from pit out strait away! so I decided to go all the way on the med's & pit with 3 laps left for gas only & hope for the best ..tires were at 15% deg after the race so no issue there ... I must say this was a very fun and intense race so I'm Very happy with 5th ! Grats to Roy who was un touchable as always & Sean for the final podium spot ! & My driver of the day award goes to 2nd place Pasha ! awesome display of patience, discipline & strategy ! here ya go ! Thanks for the laps guys ! Some Great driving going on out there !
The first four laps I was rooting hard for Salvatore — his pace as about equal to mine, and I knew the only way my strategy was going to work was for me to get a nice bubble of empty track and for him to keep defending. Shame what happened between Salvatore and Karl there at Eau Rouge — just looks like one of those unfortunate racing incidents with too many cars and not enough pavement. Many thanks to Roy and Rob for getting the full-race replay posted; I really enjoyed watching that race-long fight. Congrats to Roy for putting on a driving school. Spa is probably my favorite track in AC and I'm thrilled to have my gamble pay off. Given what little practice I've put in for race 8 on my own, I'm not nearly as optimistic about Donnington, but I'm looking forward to giving it a go.
Definitely a good report there Rob. Much more interesting than mine. But then again, you were in the thick of it while I was feeling lonely up front.
Wow Rob. thats an awesome write up. nearly as good as Pashas Eco-drive -- stil wow. As for my race report. fail.. fail.. fail.. Starting at practice, got a few good times in practice 1, practice 2 and 3 i couldnt get close. Race day and qualifying rolled around, still couldnt find the pace but car was good. Race started Found good rhythm but at the back after slowing for Sal in Eau Rouge and handing the spot to Rob. I knew then its a weak spot for Sal. Fought back with good speed and before long was reading the sponsor logos off Robs car again.. Rob you need more sponsors After crazy laps behind Sal and Rob, i could see all were getting frustrated. Sal overshot into the Chicaine. Sal aiming back on track and nearly hitting into Rob. i done the under cut and took them both. now with Sal behind me i could move on........... but...... T1 was a shock, Hitting my brake marker i saw Sal still accelerating towards the apex, had i turned when i was supposed to, we"d have connected each other, so i stayed wide, throwing out Larry's Rythm at the same time, leading him to over shoot. Me staying wide meant i could do the undercut. getting a great run on Sal down the hill, i could take him there as he slows earlier. Running side by side i had a marker where id back off if not still side by side. Just before that marker Sal decelerated for a second and i thought i had him, i aimed to run the curb giving him enough room so id clear him on the run uphill . i have seen that move in GT's and TC's before , i know it works. Right as i aimed for the curb i get i hit from the side. Turns out that deceleration was Sal grabbing another gear! i had to watch the replay to see that Sal bravely kept he's foot down where earlier he was lifting, Big respect for pushing so hard, just a pity it wasnt a better result, i know we could have gone thru together. End of the day, my fault. I shouldnt have pushed so hard, the desperation for points has taken my game. Sorry to those affected and to Larry when i bumped him into the chicane near end or race, i was surprised at he's brake marker. Karl (PS: sorry no pretty pictures )
