    @Rob Milliken So its your fault then!
    A ten point penalty for you Rob IMHO :D
    Because if it was on the long track I would have come first, or even better:rolleyes:

    Just had a look at the replay for race 2 and that may have been my fault.
    As we approached T1 I was moving slightly to the right and made contact with Larry, who I did not see as he was slightly behind me. My car turned sideways and ...well it was a mess.
    Apologies to everyone :(

    Race 1 Jump start - finger twitch on the gear paddle and that was that. I did make it back up to fifth on track, but for some reason. probably to do with the drive thru on lap one, the game scored me tenth, @Rob Milliken can you have a look please I need all the points!

    Race 2, thought I was safe in turn one then got a Bruce shaped missile barreling into me, well if you are going to wreck make it a good one! :-] Down to eighth but with a few incidents in front and some determined overtakes was slowly catching the lead pair with time to spare. Got past Rob and with one more lap would have done Roel, but not to be.

    As per usual my race report.
    Not going to say anything about the wheel I borrowed. After the race tonight this will become my back-up wheel. BTW, Thanks Luc for lending it to me.
    Quali;
    Before the race I had a best laptime of 1.27.8 on this track. Both Nick and John Bayes had set faster times in practice so I was preparing to settle for 3rd. To my amazement I set the fasted time of 1.27.678 on my first fast lap, but true to his nature Nick had to take pole from me by the narrowest margins again. 0.040 sec. So pole went to Nick, Roy 2nd, John 3rd (he didn't seem to get a good lap in).

    Race 1;
    A total of 10 drivers took to the startgrid. Nice numbers we've got for this series. Light went red, 3, 2, 1, GO GO GO! Nick got a blinding start and was slightly pulling away from me. Not an exaggerated start but enough to give him a clean run into turn one. John was slightly behind me and everyone seemed to get through the 1st couple of corners ok. First lap I always try not to overdo it, so I settled for 2nd behind Nick with John close behind me. Knowing the laptimes both Nick and John can put down I knew there was no way I could pass Nick without him making a mistake and John had the same "problem". Then to my amazement Nick took to the pit on the end of the 1st lap... Turns out he had a jumpstart. Had to be a very close call because like I said he didn't really rocketed away at the start. Ok, so now I was in 1st. John made me earn my money by staying within a second of me for the next 8-9 laps. On lap 9 I wanted to see how much "reserve" he had so I went for a flyer. 1.27.966. Guess what... On the same lap John pulled of a 1.27.887. So no use trying to pull away from him. Then with 2 laps to go he lost it in the left hand sweeper giving me the first breather during the race. I just had to do the last 2 laps without incident and win.
    1st Roy, 2nd John, 3rd Roel

    Race 2;
    Reversed grid. Winning the 1st race I had to start last. Nick got pole due to him pitting to early in race 1. He never crossed the line because our pitboxes were before the finishline.
    Owing to the nature of this track I decided not to hold back at the start. A long straight with enough room to go 5 cars wide. I had a good start and was able to take advantage of the tow the car in front produced. Was able to get beside him getting ready to take the inside line for turn 1 when 2 cars crossed my path... Not sure how what or why that happend, but I visited the gravel on turn 1. I wasn't the only victim it seemed because John was in the gravel to. Anyway, got back on the black stuff as fast as I could. 2-3 corners later I saw nick going slowish but couldn't get past. So had to follow him. I think we were 8th and 9th at that time. So head down, concentrate and go as fast as possible. On the next few laps there were a few more incidents (nothing to do with us) moving Nick and me up to 5th and 6th. We then got up to Dan Houk I think. Nick fought with him for about 1.5 laps and got past. I had to do the same not to lose to much time to Nick. About half a lap later I got past him. He tried to fight back. All good and clean racing. Nice. So Nick at that time was a little ahead of me. Not a real problem. Next up Larry. Nick seemed not to lose any time getting past him because Larry went wide giving Nick enough room to get past. Needed a couple af laps to get close enough to Larry to try a pass on him. And by the time I got past him Nick had gotten by Rob and was now in 2nd. With only 4 minutes on the clock and Rob 3seconds ahead of me there was no way I could catch him. So the result was 1st Roel, 2nd Nick, 3rd Rob.

    All in all a good and fun race. Congratz to all who took part.

    BTW, I can't say this enough, Use Helicorsa. It would have avoided the crash on the start straight.

    I do use Helicorsa, but obviously when everyone is approaching T1 there are many things to watch out for, like the car in front braking +.
    It was a driver error and I've admitted I am guilty.

    Well bit of a mess for me.

    Qual I knew having put in a 1.27.6 in practice, I was .3 up on anther lap and lost in the final turn, so going into qual I knew I would need a good lap with Nick doing a .6 and Roy .8, first lap I got a 1.28.1 and from that point on just overdrove it trying to find the time. Then I just got stupid, for some reason I thought Roy was on pole and Nick was 2nd, so I thought it was Roy who got the jump start and Nick was in front of me for 8 laps or so, so i was just going to be a rear gunner for him. It was only when I looked at the names I realised it was Roy in front with a couple of laps to go that I started to really push, well a little to hard as I lost it in one of the later corners, still brought it home 2nd, the thing about VR is the small text is not easy to read, I cant read any chat messages at all unless I sit forward, I wised you could change the font size!

    Race 2 decent start the outside opened up for me and I thought I was going to be going into t1 in about 4th or 5th place, but got tagged on the rear bumper by someone spinning across the track. Got going again and I think by lap 2 was back upto 6ish after passing Dan on the start finish line, however going onto the hairpin it looks like Roger Hinds totally misses his breaking point and punts Dan into me and I am in the gravel again, to be fair to Roger he waited to let everyone go, however race was ruined at that point.

    Grats to Roy for the win in race 1 (I will pay more attention to who is in front of me next time lol), and grats to all podium in race 2

    yes sorry about that, but I got a rough ride In both races myself, got pushed off the track in the 1st race and in the 2nd race got wiped out after the 2nd corner by someone cutting right across me. waiting for the replays to see what happened.

    As I said in my previous post I got pushed off the track in the 1st race after giving more than enough room to Rob, and in the 2nd race got wiped out after the 2nd corner by Dan and then Roel cutting right across me. I made a mistake myself in race 2 when Dan braked very early, so I don't know. I don't want to lodge a protest but if I get one against me I will.

    Larry if someone wants to cut you up no Helicorsa is going to save you

    Under the site rules any Protests must be submitted no later than 48 hours after race completion.

    Now I appreciate that the replays were only posted here after the expiry of that date, and this is something we need to look at, but we all have the game, all have the ability to save replays so I really don't see that as an excuse.

    I would encourage anyone who has a justifiable incident to raise a Protest because only that way do we get a proper review and decision from the race admins. I would discourage anyone raising them just because they got one.

    Indeed, and this may just be me, I have protested myself in the past to ensure a fair result, maybe that is the way to look at it in future to improve everyone's driving, especially where repeated errors occur from the same driver.
