Great choices of tracks John. Round 4 is my home town. I went to every Indy race that was here. I am looking forward to some fierce competition! See everyone on the track. Paul
I don't know the race history of Edmonton, but I think the layout is fantastic. Absolutely one of my favorite tracks. If it was my hometown, I wouldn't miss a race either
It is a pity that it is now gone. They closed the airport and tried to turn it in to a Green sustainable community with all the latest in technology but it stalled and is now half torn up. It is such a waste. We were making such a go off the indy races. We were getting over hundred thousand attendance for the weekend. It really is too bad. I had tickets from 2005 to 2012. It was great. I really do miss it.
Cool picks man! Yeah, the track layout is fantastic. What a shame it has gone to waste. It must have been a great party when the show came to town and very good for the economy!
tens of millions each year was generated by the race and various festivities. The great thing is that it was in the middle of the city so you could take public transit, or for some, they could walk to it. In the attached picture, the red track is the original from 2005 to 2010 and the blue is the 2011-2012 track. Both tracks are available on steam in the Timo Hartmann America/Canada Track Collection. sorry for the bad drawing skills. lol This is what it looks like today so the tracks are actually still recoverable if someone had influence with the City and had the time to champion it.
