Registration Drivers, We have a Special Tuesday Night AMS2 Test event! This test race falls in between the ACC Tuesday night racing series! So with an open Tuesday, I slipped it in! As requested By JVDG we will be turning the clock back for some old school DTM! Tuesday, April 13th @ 19:00 GMT (Race @ 19:15)
I just got my appointment for the vaccine. I would have to make a pit stop in the race to get it. I think I will be missing this event. Too bad for me, have fun.
If you set your time zone correctly in your preferences that will give you the exact start time of races.
I will give this a try as it's a test and i guess the more the merrier, never tried cars or track but will run some laps beforehand, BMW or Merc? I shall choose the yellowest as it's a proven fact that a car painted yellow will go quicker in a straight line. Just hope there aren't too many corners.
Ya, it's a pretty poor turnout.. If we don't get a few more I feel we should open the server up /public & see how many we can get, that way we can at least have a race pluss stress test the net code while having some laps! It's all just for fun & testing anyway & test event results don't affect SRO rank.. Besides the fact, we will not & cannot parse public server results .. we might even recruit a few more AMS2 drivers ... If that's ok with everyone?
On Tuesday I'm racing in the simracing-gp.net F3 league... Would love to do a DTM race on another day tho. Friday worked well for me usually.
Sadly, despite multiple refreshes..........yet again I cannot get the SRO server to show up in the list!
Fridays are the norm! There was an open Tuesday so I tossed it in .. To bad this sim is not doing better, it's quite a good game. When I look at the AMS2 server lobbies it's a ghost town maybe 8-10 drivers total on 3 or 4 servers, all the rest are simply empty...
It's up now with the latest updates and I can say my FPS has improved a lot! I'm on a 1080 in 4k on a 50" LG and was getting 45-50 FPS in AMS2 before the latest build . Now I'm in the hi 70's low 80's , that's about what I get with ACC & rf2 with the same 4k settings
To be honest, I love this sim, for whatever reason (and I’m sure others may find differently) I get the best feel of what the cars is doing than in any other sim, and for me, that’s what matters. Hope it picks up some increased following and we get more races on here.
With AMS2 on the PC2 engine, it's important that the host be the first to join! The server will restart at the top of the hour for the 1-hour practice, please make sure you are not the first one on! I will be joining right after the restart so please don't be the first to join if the server is empty! Thanks ~!~
Thanks to all of you who helped with yesterday's test! The result file worked! & I now believe that AMS2 is in good enough shape for an official series! Also, it was great to see Ed back on the grid! Glad to see you Ed & we all hope your recovery is going well. Those DTM cars are a blast for sure ..Old school like me lol I could drive as I did back in high school, mostly sideways. i enjoyed the BMW and the improved FPS & the 2 min server cut-off has been reduced to 30 seconds. It still sux that player cannot rejoin but I feel the driving is worth it lol
I've only got 13hrs total on AMS2 cos until last night i thought it felt a bit arcadey! ( Tbh i haven't really got a lot of hrs in most of my racing sims, apart from PC2), but i really enjoyed that race last night although i couldn't get past you despite you leaving space, i'm gonna enter a few more race series here on SRO and look forward to improving my driving/pace etc etc, thx for hosting it and count me in for future testing/racing.
