Hi I have hit the wall of tinkering about, I am planning on uninstalling rF2, cleaning everything up and reloading it. I have a few questions if anyone can help with a suggestion. I have only backed up my Package files., should I back up the location and vehicle files or will all be available as long as it came from a Steam Download? What about all the things I downloaded from your server? Should I uninstall using Steam or Windows? Cars have disappeared and are getting reloaded bit by bit. The graphics seem to be screwed up. All the cars now are covered by a grey blanket and the show room is black and the dash are empty of gauges etc. I am not sure how much to get rid of and I would hate to go to a lot of trouble to arrive at the same place. Any advice or online guides would greatly be appreciated. Thanks and regards Michael
I did this about 4 years ago. I actually didn't back anything up and started fresh. Took time to get everything back to normal as in weeks, maybe months but you can do it. I'll probably be building a new computer and starting fresh again sometime this year. Good luck bud.
I decided recently to reset my rF2 but didn't uninstall it all, but I did - uninstall all packages, sessions etc thru rF2 - unsubscribed to all steam content - cleared the vehicles and location folder - cleared the userdata/log folder - cleared the userdata/player/settings folder (all custom skins and setups are stored here) - deleted all.cch files in userdata/player - validated files thru steam Then I installed the packages of interest, and subscribed to content I might use in near future, did this during a day. Using this method I didn't have to setup my controller, graphics and tweaks in different json files. If you uninstall, steam or windows doesn't really matter, same uninstaller is used. Backup the UserData folder first, this is where all your settings etc is saved. I save all my rfmod packages on another drive, after installation you can delete them from the package folder if you like.
Thanks Jens. I finally followed you advice and after a some work all is running well. A big help and thanks again as I am having fun again. Cheers Michael
