Qualifying will take place in the dark. I can't change that. It's a track design feature.

I have changed the duration of the race from 92 to 62 minutes.
Hopefully we will get 15 drivers from other countries to join this event, because all the Americans are eating turkey at this time :D

nah, the tradition for the 4th is grilling burgers, steaks and/or chicken in the back yard.

I like short passwords so I don't have to type much (you can thank me later) and ... it's part of the track, not the weather :)
If I didn't like the track, the password would be ... bah :D

Congrats Barrett!! A win well deserved. First stint was a blast. I wouldn't have it any other way. While racing, my dog kept on throwing me his ball. Didn't give a rats ass if I was racing. I want to play ball!!! Toward the end, Gert seemed to be wagging his tail. Didn't know if his tail was going left or right LOL.

    See you guys on track.

    Johnny

    What happened to Gert-Jan then?

I was having a serious case of heartburn while Johnny was chasing me, after eating a pizza before the race and had nothing to drink. I was in pain man!
Got so bad that I decided to stop.

I guess you were all on the soft tires :) I was on med.

This was far more fun than i was expecting.

I too started on mediums. I'd done all my practice on softs, thinking they might last the 62 minute race length, but in a final check, just before Q i discovered the wear balance was slightly better on mediums, with very marginal loss of time, and the temps were holding more steady. Grip in this tire model seems really sensitive to heat degradation. So i decided to take a chance on those ahead of me losing more grip toward the end.

The first stint was amazing fun! Actually hadn't noticed that the race was still set to 92 minutes until about 7 laps in while trying to determine if my fuel consumption was going to let me avoid a stop. During that time i made a couple mistakes but realizing that a stop was something i couldn't avoid by saving fuel, i seemed to be able to catch back up to the John and Johnny fight. So i decided that i'd pit as soon as my window opened. The tires seemed good, and i was banking on those ahead to have to change tires, so it was fuel only for me. But as usual in these calculate-on-the-fly situations, i took on more fuel than i actually needed.

Then, after my stop it was obvious that Johnny had pace beyond what i'd seen before, as he pulled the gap. Once he and Gert-Jan stopped, and got their fresh tires up to pressure, it seemed inevitable they'd overtake me. But first they had to resolve who was going to lead that charge. My break was that he and Gert-van wound up in a tussle that eventually gave me sufficient breathing room.

This race, especially the first 30 minutes or so, was a blast and a half in close quarters! The last 60 minutes was heavy sweating (given today's weather) and trying not to make too many mistakes as i watched the gap i'd managed to take with my tire strategy shrink. No less fun!

I've run the S397 GT3's and GTE's a lot over the course of the last year or two, and i have to say they are my favorites by far. Unfortunately, the last update to the GTE's totally broke my M8 base set, and now they've announced a second GTE update is imminent, along with an update to these GT3's, which i suspect will totally break both base sets again.

Still... These are great cars to race!

I humbly apologize for not setting the server back to 62 minutes. I totally forgot to do that. Sorry for creating that confusion.

    Grats on the win Barrett!

Thanks for the practice. Normally I don't practice a full 92 minutes. Now I did :)
At the start I moved slightly before the green light (which is not to be seen if you are not on the front row.... annoying). This resulted in a drive thru...
After my pitstop I got another for speeding in the pitlane (released the pit limiter a bit too early).
Learning the hard way.... (Story of my life)
