Voted, Not tried them, but pretty sure I would join a championship in these if it was at a suitable time slot for me. I love the fast sweeping corners of 60s tracks.
The Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday at 19.15 slot would work for me (preferably on the opposing week to the BTCC Championship )
I would like Wed/Thu, opposing week to BTCC or not in conflict with next AMS event (1 round left on current one), or Sundays as long not in conflict with other SRO events.
Not tried all the cars, but i love drive that lotus 49, so i'm in. I would love even more if nordscleife would be included in the series.
The Nordschleife is a fantastic track and I love it very much, but it's not ideal for online racing. Specially with these cars. Many people will crash in the beginning and the gaps between drivers will be too big. I will turn out to be a hot-lapping affair. Shorter tracks give better fights and action. This is my concept idea; - first race Tuesday 22 january then every other week (no BTCC ) - 19.15 GMT - 45 min - Default setup, except for gears + all brakesettings + steering assist + fuel (default setups are pretty good / we'll get more members that way as they don't have to worry about making a setup) Tracks: 1. Zandvoort 67 2. Kyalami 67 3. Donington 38 4. Monza 66 5. Zolder 67 (all these tracks can hold 25 cars)
John another series is already in the creation stage for Thursday's starting on 6th Dec, alternating with the BTCC series. The first open Thursday date is now 21st Feb. An alternative option is Tuesday's starting 22nd Jan.
Can I also throw Rouen (extra long verson) into the mix for suggestion. Great track for classic cars https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/rouenlesessarts-extralong-rtb-revisited-2017.11991/
Here's a preview of what's to come. This is done with the default setup. Only gear and brakebalans changes.
Hey John Could I request front and rear ARB adjustments also available, This will allow drivers to change the balance of the car to their liking.
Although the track is well made and looks beautifull, the layout and cornerradius is completely wrong. It's like an other track all together. So I didn't go for that one. If we did a 6th race, I was thinking about the Oisterreichring-no chicane. That's a blast in these cars.
Im in for sure. This is where it all started for me . 7 years old orso on a crappy trust wheel trying to control the GPL cars. Lets call it simcrashing instead of simracing. In my short testing tho it does seem all cars understeer like a bitch (its to be expected with these, especially high speed / on throttle) but the ferrari didnt have this? maybe its in the springs or something, dont know, not a fan of fixed setup myself . In the install notes there is a short write up per car also, explaining what they are like and what they need in terms of setup
It's to make it easier for people to join as they don't have time or knowhow to make a setup. And the car is pretty driveble on default setup. You can change some stuff in the series: Gears Fuel all brake settings ARB Steering assist
Tuesday and Thursdays are already taken for other series, so SRO will be running the series on fridays. I'm gonna construct the series this weekend. So it will look like this - Friday's: 20.00 GMT qual 10 minutes 20.15 GMT race 45 minutes 25 jan Highlands 8152 meters 01 feb Kyalami 67 08 feb Donington 1938 15 feb Monza 66 22 feb Oisterreichring no chicane 01 mar Zandvoort 67 Driving default setup, except for: Gears Fuel all brake settings ARB Steering assist
