No worries mate, it was what it was but I couldn’t continue, 100% damage so car wouldn’t go anywhere, engine was dead, otherwise I would have

I had the same thing. I was on 63 km/h in stead of 60 on the limiter.
When I didn't cut the approach (the twisties) to the pit-in entry, it was alright. I also pressed it a few meters before.

Best advice is to watch it and control the pit-in speed manually below 60 km/h in the official event.

You have to use the "eSport Endurance Series - Tyre Warmers". Weird, but it's like that.

RESULTS FROM TESTING ON MY PART

    - Rain in the night is not a good idea for sim racing IMO. It gives poor visibility due to the spray from cars in front. It's hard to see if anybody is in front because the red tail lights are obscured because of the spray. Further more, I think the rain spray looks ugly in the night. Like a dark smoke cloud.
The rain was too dominant. I will replace the time of rain further down the time-line on the server, so that it will come at dawn and will dry out more quickly.

    - Even though there were 27 cars, time acceleration x 10 did not pose any problems for me. At the start of the race FPS was ca. 198 and later on alone ca. 258.
No stutters or weird stuff. It was all good for me. I think it will be no problem doing x 10 even with 32 cars on track.

    - Pit lane speed limit was an issue, even though it is an official S397 track. Just watch the speed limit and control it manually to below 60 km/h.

    - LMH class; make sure to select "eSport Endurance Series - Tyre Warmers" for maximum top-speed on track. The other specs are slower.

Speed limiter won't slow your car down by the way, you need to be down below the limit before putting it on to be effective.

    A little feedback
    • Weather - Night racing in rain was tough when you couldn't see the track condition. Does make it a little boring when alone on track :D With rain settings on medium in the darkness the rain just appeared as white streaks which was way different to how it seems to be on a monitor Vs VR.
    • I like a little bit of time change, seeing dawn then midday to dusk was lovely
    • Hypercars Vs GT3s.... the closing speed and difference in speed is very dramatic and for races going forward the hypers need to be very aware of this... patience! GTs need the racing line above all, they don't have the downforce to switch their lines, even at LeMans they needed all the road at some corners! A few times I was caught by surprise with a hyper taking my line and leaving me to avoid, do better please. Nearly got t-boned at the second Mulsanne chicane by @John vd Geest, did you think this was the 90s? If I had turned in for that chicane I would have been murdered.
    • Special note for LeMans - those areas outside of the white lines are not overtaking lanes. Had one hyper overtake on the on the left while I was on the right side, a second later another hyper decided that the wealth of track on the left wasn't suitable and squeezed between the fence and myself on the right! I know this was a test race, but come on now.
    • In the rain the lights in the mirrors (for me anyway) were very weak and especially the spray blocked any arriving headlights completely.
    • FPS - I know for LeMans I would have to knock down some settings, bad FPS in the pits area in VR.
    • Start procedure, maybe I got it wrong...I thought we were going as we came onto the Mulsanne. Maybe a track pic in the event notes clearly showing visually where the GO point is would be helpful.
That race was pretty tough for me physically, pity the number dwindled towards the end as it got very lonely (mainly due to me having a brain fade and whacking the barrier on the straight which gave a big repair bill). Trying to get back to the pits with bent steering and no rear wing was a challenge.

I can give some feedback probably similar.
Pitstop limit is serious issue I think this is about the mode. I got stop and go as well even during practice sessions before. To fix that as getting under control manually would be hard because the sensibility of the throttle and excitement/nervous during the race.
The speed delta is to much between Hyper and GT3. Many times really tricky to find out getting past or staying behind. It is gonna be hard to get under dicipline by the time after P2 driving.
And of course damages. Should be lowered.
Meanwhile, If possibilities available of the server, the grid would be divided by 2 groups and race at the same time in 2 race sessions. Then combine the race time to exist the race results. So the traffic would be controled better.

Everyone needs to give room. Not just hypercars, every car needs every little bit of track to go fast as possible.
What do you mean your line? Who had the right for the line is the proper question. Or do you just stubbornly stick in your line because you need whole track.
I take the area outside line if needed, no problem, its very safe.

Sorry Neil, I missed my braking point because I could not find the brake marker.

What I am saying is, in some corners, the GT3s have no option but to use all the track. Hypers need to be aware of this and not push the issue. As GTs we have to stay predictable (on the racing line is the most predictable trajectory) so the hypers can pick where and when they can safely pass. Hypers have downforce and the ability to choose alternate lines that the GT3s can't.

    - Agree with the comments, Johnny, Neil..., regarding the sometimes dangerous overtaking of the GT's by the Hyper's.
    - No technical, graphical problems - all good. Had no issues with the pit speed limiter either, worked good for me.
    - Damage seems a bit too much - slightly touched a wall and the car was undrivable.

As Neil says, the GT's must stay predictable, that is, stay on the racing line. It is then up to the hypers to pass safely. Always. Have sometimes raced in another league where this works very well. I think Johnny and Ed can back me up on this.

I had zero grip and was amazed at the speed some Hyper cars were doing. I was 15 sec slower than in off line practice?

Yes. I think it's the same league we're talking about. In that league, the car has to respect the line of the GT and if there's any contact, to the point of pushing a car wide and causing damage, The passing car will get penalized and will have to do a drive-thru or a stop and hold for about 10 seconds in the following race.. It's up to the car behind to make the correct pass and not touch the car in front because that's where accidents happen. There's always bumping and grinding but that's racing. It's another story when you push someone off track and cause damage. There's always a few that just ignore this but I guess that's just racing as well.

On another note. If you're going to pretend to take the line while another car is already on the line, that's going to make two cars coming out of the apex slower because the first car will think that it's going to be overtaken so it backs off and then car behind is backing off at the last second. This makes two slow cars out of the apex. This might be good when two of the same class are battling it out but to have a GT and a hyper do this to each other is not good. Just have patience.

Since this is testing and tuning, I think it's good to talk about things better now than later. When first first race of the series comes around, I just tend to shut up and let the ball roll and hope we all learn. Because I know I make s***** mistakes as well.

Edit. Don't want to come out as a prick. When a GT and a Hyper are along each other and both are turning in for a apex, GT should give room so both can turn in, so the Hyper can leave faster and better out of the apex.

Every single one of these examples, I've made those exact mistakes and I still do. Anyways, I still have fun with everyone here, right or wrong.

    Cheers.

The suggestion was more like.... game screenshot of where, not just a circle on a track map. Makes it easier to visualise.

It is worth it for the hyper drivers that have signed up, just to do a few laps in the GTs at the tracks on the calendar to see what they can and can't do at the limit.
