Hey John, I've done all that but the link to discord doesn't work for me. I have SRO on discord so no worries for me. Just concerned for others.
Not a fan of Discord myself but if we have people registering that don't belong to SRO that is the concern for the Admin I think...
Good find, it was set to expire after 7 days .. I changed it to never expire. https://discord.gg/78nbNBzwjV
In these open tests, we are allowing non-members to race. We want to stress-test the servers while recruiting new members who would like to do some league racing with LMU . As for the 'Auto link to Discord', for that feature to be available through RaceGrid the 'RaceGrid Simracingonline server' needs to have a minimum of 2X Boost, (meaning we have to pay) 1X Boost = $2.99 us. boosts are auto-billed with a monthly subscription so we would need at least 2 players paying monthly or one player subscribed at 2X boosts of around 6 bucks ..so, for now, we are not using that feature..
Race Day Reminders: The server will go live at exactly 20:00 GMT, Until then there will be no SRO server available. There will be 2 ways to join once the server goes live (The red light will go green on the website front page once the server has launched and is joinable) 1. Start LMU, go to 'Online' Find the 'Hosted' list on the right side, click to open, there you will see the hosted servers that are up and running, find the Simracingonline LMU server & join using the password like normal. 2. Use the one-time code that will be posted in this forum once the server goes live, following the above instructions instead of finding the server on the list put the code in the code box in the upper right corner of the page, this will auto load you right into the server.. Remember this is the test phase for LMU here at SRO so expect things to go wrong lol See you on the grid!
I got sick on Christmas Eve and I still feel like death warmed up, so I'm afraid I'm pulling out of tonight's test. Hope all goes well.
I was able to add time to the practice session so the server is now live with a 40 min P1 session! LOBBY CODE = YRDYK paste this into the code box on the HOST section of your LMU UI if you want to try it out .. its experimental
I just used the code and it worked great! I had to use windows key command ctrl-v because there is no copy/ paste menu inside the LMU ui..
Sorry guys i had to retire, ffb to stiff arms were aching. Will set the wheel up properly. Only purchased game this morning only had 20 minutes to set up before i went on the server, Most was ok just ffb.
It was good to see you on the grid! Ya setting up a DD wheel for a first time run on any sim is a challenge. Also remember guys the "Coach Dave" setups are ready to go, just click on the icon and it loads the set .. I adjusted it to my liking and the car felt excellent! Good test everyone, net code seemed good as usual for a G-Motor sim ;-) Next up for testing, we will try the LMP2's @ Bahrain ....
Good fun guys, the 488GTE loves to lock up. I will try to recalibrate the braking in game to see if it helps
I was hoping for the weekend or Mondays as those are my days off and being on the west coast of Canada the race times are noon for me.
I had to turn down the breaks in the Porsche as well! I'm sorry for that rub at the start. I knew you were there, but you were just in my blind spot, and I was out of room on my right. I saw the radar but was concentrating on not crashing LOL ..
We can't produce results here at SRO when we have non-members in the races however in testing the software we are all set for it to work, Once we set up the official events.. that said they do work at SG,as long as everyone in the race was signed up at SG! and they were! so have a look at how SG does the results & scoring all by 1 click of the mouse. Lots of extra data about the race as well, check your own stats when you log on to SG .. Lots of info tabs to click through ..
The results can be exported yes but we have our own results parsing software built by one of the admins and we need the direct g-motor rf2 style results files to parse them & everyone in the results must be a registered member or it will throw an error ..
Hey Lorne, Aside from the brake force in the setup menus, try adjusting the brake sensitivity in the controller calibration settings. I run mine about 65%. It means the brakes release a little earlier than when set at linear, and i find this helps immensely in finding the right modulation feel. Hope to make the next one!
Found the braking overly sensitive to start with in LMU, for me it defaults to having the pedal sensitivity at 100% which sadly isn't explained in game properly what this means. I beleive at 50% its considered a linear response with less/more than that curving it above and below that.. Alot depends on how quickly you are pushing the pedal as well... If i run mine at 50% i was finding i was locking up too soon. Also you can change in the car setups to reduce the braking force down which will help reduce it locking up.
