    Welcome to Mugello Special Event

Car: Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo

    Baseline setup

This race is set up as a test event to see if the Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo will muster enough interest to make a complete series for it.
The race is official and will affect ranking.

I selected the Lamborghini Huracan because I was very pleasantly surprised by how good it is. This car will make for great racing.
If you take time to test the car, you will find that it is a fantastic race car in physics, sound and FFB. One of the best I've driven.

You can find the car on Steam: Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo

We will be driving the 2018 version that has a lot of skins. You can see the rF2 car in action at Mugello here

If it comes to a full series, we will be duplicating the real 2018 North-American Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo series

Road America (There is a new version on Steam Road America 2019)
    Virginia
    Road Atlanta
    Laguna Seca
    Sebring

Hope to see you on the signup list.

    Hi John,
    Nice initiative!
You probably know that Mugello was never a circuit in this series, but it might be good fun as a test.
You probably also know that the real-life format of this series is: Each weekend will consist of two 50-minute races preceded by two qualifying sessions (20 minutes each). Any thoughts on tryning to emulate the real-life series as close as possible?
If it will be too long to plan 2 races in one session you could do 2 x 25 minute race (and 10 minute qualy) with time/fuel factor set to 2x for instance.
It might offer some variation and extra challenge. Just a thought!

Unfortunately doing a race on Saturday and Sunday is not possible because of server occupation with other series. Would have been cool, but I can't organize that.

But I do want to keep the sim series as close as possible to the real series:
    - 52-minute duration (including formation lap)
    - Rolling start
    - Mandatory pitstop with pit window between 30 and 40 minutes.
    - Pro class
    - Pro AM class

It's a bit overkill to force a mandatory pitstop in a 25-minute race. So that's off the table. We will just cut the weekend in half and do 1 race.

You are right. But I don't want to run any of the series events to keep them fresh.

Pro and Pro AM classes explained:

Pro class = the championship class for the fast guys at SRO
Pro AM class = the championship for the slower guys at SRO

Anyone with rank 6 or higher is considered to be a fast driver and must go Pro class.
Anyone lower than rank 6 will go in Pro AM class.
(If a Pro AM driver gets to or surpasses rank 6 during the series, he can finish the series off as he was, but has to go to Pro for the next series and visa versa)

The Pro AM guys who usually run in the middle and back of the pack, now get a chance to win races and a championship among themselves as the faster drivers have their own championship. So it's basically a multiclass series.

(We won't bother with that for the test event)

Oh, a pro and pro am series? Count me in! Pretty sure I'm below 6.... If not, I'll have to have a few dnf's to make it so. Well into the class split though. If it works well, could we use that split in different series?

We are using that split also in the AMS2 series. We are also planning to do that in other series.
It's not implemented for this special event, however. It depends on the signups if we'll do a series with this mod.
