PLANNED SERIES FOR SRO 2026 CHAMPIONSHIP Hi members, Since the Sim Racing Online 2025 championship was a great success, for which we also have to thank @Rob Milliken and @Neil Wood for commentating and @Randy Marek for sponsoring all series, we are doing the same setup for 2026. There will be a year-long battle for the SRO 2026 Champion over the course of 4 series. The award is to be determined. In principle, we have chosen the following platforms to race on. Q1 Series 01: Le Mans Ultimate / LMP2 & GT3 Q2 Series 02: Automobilista 2 / Historic Endurance 2005 / LMP1 & GT1 Q3 Series 03: First: Grand Pro Circuit (if compatible for online racing) or Second: rFactor 2 / F1 1991 Q4 Series 04: Assetto Corsa Evo (cars/tracks to be determined) Our 2025 Champion @Philipp Pichler has the right to carry No. 1 on his car for the whole of 2026. Will he be able to defend the championship? We can also again rely on Rob Milliken and ...........? to fully entertain us with the race streams and commentary.
This again. Everyone has to buy all the sims. What a ridiculous idea. Lmu $40 Ams2 $40 Gpc ? I'm going to guess $20 or more Evo $40 That's $140 not counting dlc that we might need. I understand you might want to move away from rf2 but pick one and run it for the year.
AMS2 is now only € 11,00 and the AMS2 DLC € 8,00. I would advice everyone the buy AMS2 now, while it's 70% off. You can then also join Rob's AMS2 Group C series to practice the game.
I personally agree with you John, diversity of platforms is nice. But not everybody sees it like that, spending money for the games/DLCs is one thing, the other is having enough GPU performance (been there) and enough disk space (that gets scarce on my 1TB HDD with rf2/LMU/AMS2/ACC/AC) etc. Of course you can save a lot of money, be buying at the right time/place (hardware and software) but another issue is, do I want compete in that many different sims? I assume most guys here have no problem with that in general, even though there are guys who mainly race only one, or used to be racing here. The question is how wise is it, to go for the extreme solution with four different ones? I do not know how many of us own all four already respectively how many are willing to buy/compete in all four, but it could be too much to ask. In my case for example, I own three out of four, but regarding AC EVO I am not sure yet. To be honest, I have no idea how ready the game already is and if your discovery series shows that it is perfectly ready, I may change my mind. But normally I would wait some time here before buying it. In the end, maybe before proceeding with the plan asking via a survey how willing the community is to compete in such a four sims series or if they would only do it with three or two sims. And I know it is impossible to make everybody happy, even if you try to.
It is a good suggestion. At the beginning of each series, I will do a poll for what sim/platform you all want to drive for the next series. The members can decide what sim they would like to continue with. LMU is the first of the championship, so we will have 3 polls to vote for.
POLL FOR THE Q2 SERIES IN THE SRO 2026 CHAMPIONSHIP In this poll the members can choose what sim they would like to drive for the series after this LMU series.
