    Forgot to mention you about this legendary ABS issue @Jos Ogos. I did 11 micro stint of 2 or 3 laps, and if you read the value on stracker, the only stint in which you can read a value of 0.0 on stracker is the first one, in which the ABS was OFF.
    So, we ha these options, given that my guess about that value progression related to setup number was correct:
    1) You have an older or drunken version of prtracker that refuse to record ABS infos:rolleyes:;
    2) You drove a couple of GPs at interlagos with ABS OFF.

    As I know you like latin, I'd say "tertium non datur" :D:D:D

    I could write an incredibly boring essay on the origins of ABS, to its use in road cars, and its later use in race cars - but the simple way of looking at it is as follows:
    In a (modern) race car it allows the use of braking systems that are FAR too powerful (great for heat dissipation) for the grip available in the given car, without it you can lockup far too easily because the brakes will snatch a wheel as soon as it even gets slightly light over a bump.
    The massive number of ABS settings in a race car are to allow you to tune the response to best suit the track you're on, or your own preference. It's like an LSD between the road and the tires in essence. On a glass smooth road surface a good driver will still stop faster with it turned off though.
    The Cayman is in this category so you need ABS in order stop efficiently as even super smooth tracks like Silverstone will be bumpy enough to look wheels with ease, in theory you can reduce the sensitivity a lot there though unless you plan on using the bumpier curbs a lot.

    In a road car by contrast it's just a fairly basic device that stops your wheels from locking, normally just using a basic optical or magnetic encoder ring on each hub - it's simply a tool that allows you to maintain the ability to steer and avoid an accident.
    With the greater compliance of a road car's chassis I generally argue ABS is not only pointless but bloody horrible - the pump system removes a lot of feel from the pedal which makes track use a lot more vague (Yet another reason to love my 90's Nissan :D. Even if, somewhat ironically, the stock brake system on the imports is very front biased and easy to lock! )

    There's a common theme in Porsche world that those clever Porsche engineers at Weissach do actually know what they are doing when they build race cars ;) so if they put ABS on it, its worth using :p Must admit at Interlagos that was the first time i had altered the default ABS setting because of that thinking, (and due to lack of practise time!) but seems i actually i made my car worse on the brakes by removing some more intervention, when i should have lowered the value a click or two.
    Everyone will now be braking Gods at the next race :D

    Wow this ABS thing bothered me for so long!) And I always set ABS no less than 9-10 thinking it won't intervene much that way. So you guys actually engage ABS to stop faster? I always try not to trigger it at all but feel that I may actually be losing time that way.

    Still it feels a bit weird when my wheel starts vibrating because of ABS. I immediately want to release brakes a bit. Now I am confused how much ABS I should use to stop faster)

    That has been now confirmed as correct, 10 being the lowest setting for ABS intervention.

    Reading the tips for ABS in the AMS2 settings page I remembered this conversation.
    I put the screen capture here because it is a developer explanation
