Well done everyone. That was good fun. I was badly over driving, just testing myself out and seeing how far I could push. The cars are fun. For some reason I found the GTE’s really tough. I think I could get into the 6’s with some more time but happy so far. A 4m 08s was my fastest in the race? Some time lost in the Porsche Curves and with braking in one or two places. I got out of shape on the penultimate lap and knocked off the rear wing so called it a day there. Otherwise it was good, the cars are really difficult to get back once they start to slide, which I guess is what the sim racing community were complaining about? I think in RF2 you have more slip angle to play with. Anyway, no complaints. Just lack of time in the Sim (I think I’ve only done ten minutes in LMU so far) so more practice would hopefully help!
I typed the wrong password in at first, was that the issue you were having? Sorry you couldn’t make it my friend.
Thanks for the race guys, I had a good time. I was confused on the start because I (and a few others) got an instant DT for... I actually don't know why and I was looking at my HUD trying to see if it was me that got one, and then I spun. I also didn't know that you had to have some battery left and you can't just run on fuel so I got a S&G at the end as well. Some painful lessons learned today. I still don't understand the DT
Yes I got one too, the only thing I can think of is I was out of position at the start? I thought I was fine but maybe not. There was a little bit of bumping into turn one but nothing major.
Thanks all for a lovely baptism of fire. drove really badly and spun alot, once they start sliding, you finished. had to take it slow after that. also learnt that LMGT3 is "hybrid" battery energy needed. slowly starting to understand VE. Well see you all at the FinalE
in results it says "speeding", so maybe accelerate too early at the start..?! did u press speedlimiter when it says hold speed...?
The DT's handed out at the form lap are being worked on for the 1.0 release. They are way too sensitive. I was behind Karl and did not see him do anything that should have issued him a DT . Congrats to the Podium! 1. Lars Hagemann 2. Toni Talvitie 3. Barrett Erickson I had a decent start but ended up taking too much curb in the Porsche curves & posting up into the wall! I was close to the pits but had to spend 70+ seconds fixing my sus & putting all my wings back on .. Bjorne gets the sportsmanship award for having to exit and rejoin to finish the race! Don't know exactly what happened, but way to hang in there! Interesting race for sure! These races are basically to get us up to speed with LMU and all its facets. The Virtual energy for the GT3s is something new for us all, they are not hybrids. The system is a form of BOP for the different cars. lots of videos explaining it 1. Virtual Energy LMU uses the Virtual Energy system just like actual FIAWEC (& IMSA!) races. So, what is Virtual Energy? It's a way to balance the performance (BoP) of multiple cars with multiple engine configurations, and if equipped, a hybrid system. You may be unaware but fuel has an Energy Density (Energy: is the ability to do work, Energy Density: is the amount of energy that can be stored in a given system; which is ~13 kWh/kg for Petrolium), there's a limit on how much energy you can use in each race stint. As you use fuel (and hybrid electrical energy), the virtual energy is used up. For classes with Virtual Energy you should consider Virtual Energy your fuel , rather than the fuel value itself - as the fuel in the fuel tank is not the limiting factor to your stint length, this is set by BoP. By default we have set the Fuel Ratio values in-game so you cannot run out of fuel while you still have Virtual Energy remaining. Ensure you do not run out of Virtual Energy or you will recieve a Stop-Go Penalty of 100 seconds for the first instance, rising to 200s and 300s respectively for each future breach of the regulations.
..thx fun race with these cars and great pace Toni, i only realized middle of race that energy wont last while pushing all the time.. then i watched my energy per lap and figured out i could stabilize it enough with lift and cost.. i rememberd from hypercars that you mostly have to avoid pitting if possible so tried to safe more energy. Björn had disco again.. trouble with isp since a couple of weeks...
I overlooked the comma in your comment and I was like "He won dude", and then I read who made the post and realized you were referring to yourself. LOL. It looks like you made him work for it though!
Think I might have caused all the drive throughs at the start, my wife decided to take my head phones off my head and have a conversation just as we were lining up, which made me drop back to much, apologies if that was the case Good race though, Originally was planning to use up the fuel and splash and dash, but after the drive trough decided to save some fuel, figured it was my only chance to get some places back, worked out in the end. I'm surprised were not seeing bigger grids here on LMU, its got to be the best sim out there now. looking forward to the next one. Grats to the winner and podium.
