Interesting... is there also a random factor on the duration?

If we take yesterday example... once it start to drizzle (on the 3rd segment I think)... will it always drizzle for the whole segment (22.5minutes...) or it can also vary?

Fun race, the first pass through the GTs was always gonna be a bit harder with the pack bunched up, much easier as the race went on, found it difficult at times trying to lap some Hyper cars, Grats to both winners

The chosen weather will be in effect for the duration of the segment. 1 segment is indeed 1/5 of the total race time.

I calculated that with fuel-saving I would only have to do one pit stop. I forgot that with the rain, I would be fuel-saving anyway. So I fuel-saved too much.
Also tried to go through on 1 set of mediums, not changing them at the pit stop. I wonder if it would have been better to put rain tyres on, even with the dry period at the end.

Guys, I want to emphasize that it is important to take part in the interviews, during or after the race!
I don't think you realize how interesting it is for the other drivers to hear you talk about the battles you were having. Or just to hear that there is a real human being behind the digital car you were fighting with. So, just come to Team Speak and let yourself be heard! It's fun and everybody thinks of themselves that they sound weird, so that's no excuse!:eek:

Did you take rain tyres? How did you build that gap? I think most of us stayed on slicks without changing.

Yeah I took rain tyres in the first stop, which I guess turned out to be the wrong choice, had to pit again for dry tyres and the gap wasn't big enough. Horrible car to drive with the wet tyres though.

I about pissed in my pants when you guys went by the first time. Geeze, it happened so fast. Sure was fun. Good clean racing from my cockpit. Too bad about the hyper collision on the front straight. Seems like that turned out ok. Good to see Middleton Racing on the grid. Great broadcast, Rob. Loved to hear the drivers joining you. Grats to the winners!

Very happy the rain was on the practice server. It let me retest my normal dry/wet/dry strategy after the LeMans test where i'd totally buggered it (and then, after crawling slowly around the long lap from the Dunlap chicane, with great anxiety, forgot to change to wet tires)!

Still screwed this one by not paying enough attention to my settings during the transition, spinning up and hitting a wall, forcing a much earlier than wanted pit stop and a lengthy repair. Went from Meds to Sfts at the pit per strategy, even though that was taking a chance as i knew there was still a lot of "drizzle" and it would take a while to gain confidence in the softs as they came up to temp.

[grats to Kahel for making the no-change option i was considering before my shunt work!]

But going to softs gave me a very enjoyable last third of the race, as i gained pace while others were losing it on worn wets. Unlapped myself from three cars who'd clearly outpaced me in stint one and i even got to pass Roman into the first chicane as Crew Chief told me i was setting the pace (but then he seems to think all the GT3 car makes are in a separate class for some reason so i may have only been setting the pace for McLaren 720s')! A definite high point!

Looking forward to the next one.

I apologize, but there is no point in attending the interview, I will hardly understand the question and will not be able to answer, my English is almost at zero, although I studied a little, but did not continue and did not practice. I communicate with you only thanks to online translators, Maybe someday neural networks will allow us to communicate in direct speech, but for now this is unfortunately not available

    Penalty
After review by a board of admins, Thomas Hölzl has been sanctioned with a drive-through penalty for punting (rules and regulations art. 3.1) drivers Nigel Middleton and
Randy Marek, without giving the position back or doing a drive-through in the pit-lane. The Drive-Through penalty will be completed in his next event at the end of the formation lap.
