Anyone know if there's any differences between the cars apart from horsepower? Like in terms of downforce, drag, etc.

I don’t believe so. In real racing history for a while the Mercedes engined Indycars were superior (they had more power than anyone else) but I think in Reiza’s case they’ve opted to just make all the cars identical in performance.

Seems like Honda's the best in-game atm.

Just found this, copied from the forums (took a bit of searching). Not a huge difference.

Just FYI - default setups are max boost

Actual peak power according to ingame telemetry-
    Honda - 900 HP
    Ford / Mercedes - 885 HP
    Toyota - ~860 HP

IMO the Mercedes is definitely the easiest to drive, the Ford felt a little chunkier despite the same peak HP, and the torque numbers move so fast on a track you'd need proper telemetry to figure it out.

15 HP peak (or even 40) isn't that much but the Honda definitely has a bit of extra warp factor built in throughout the rev range. Really would like to see proper HP/Torque curves for the 4 engines though to see how they stack.

From a chassis point of view, in real life the Reynard pretty much won everything at the time. I seem to remember there was only three or four Lola’s on the grid (as the Reynard was just so much more sorted and dominant) Plus maybe two Swift (which was an American chassis company). The Swift didn’t do very well at first but I seem to remember it won some races.

    I also have a question.
I mapped the boost to a steering wheel key, but when I press that key, nothing is displayed on screen.
I can only adjust it in the setup menu. How can you go + / - on track?

I'm only guessing John based on my PC2 experience, having not used AMS2 yet. Is it actually boost or fuel mixture/fuel map which is used for this car? If the latter then it has to be done on the in-car HUD menu. Might be wrong with my idea but hope that helps.

Well I enjoyed the little Easter egg! Lol

don’t think I’ve known about a secret tunnel on any other racing sim, could be wrong though.

Drivers, be at your best! As of today, this series will be LIVE BROADCAST on the SRO YouTube channel (10) SimRacingOnline - YouTube by Yours truly! :D
I will most likely be butchering your names so I apologize in advance:oops:.
Although AMS2's broadcast tools are 'less than ideal', we are going to go ahead and run with what they gave us!
It comes from PC2's Broadcast tools but has not been optimized or looked at by the design team so it's bare bones & not as many features as PC2's tools have but it works & this sim & cars look fantastic so I look forward to having a go at it;)

    REMBER THIS!!
Joining the server on race day:
If you have raced AMS2 with us before you will remember we have limited admin control.
To make sure the admin actually becomes the host he must be the first to join on race day.
To do this we will restart the server 1 hour before the assigned Q time of 19:00 GMT
so that means P1 is at 18:00 GMT
and we ask that all players please wait until you see the admin on the server
(it will be within the first 2 min of restart)
This will be the start of the official Race Day Practice session, after admin has joined all are free to join.
    Simple thing to remember is:
Don't be the first to join after 18:00 GMT on race day
    or,
don't join the server if it's empty after 18:00;)

If anyone has issues finding the server refresh - refresh, and then if that does not work exit the game to desktop & restart, and do it all over again,..It's a known issue & devs know about it..
    Thanks!

It put me in the pits at the start and greyed out drive button at the start of the race . i got a pit speed warning in Quali and said I would have a start penalty so I assumed that it was a start from pit lane. I sat in my car until the race started and all the cars passed but the drive button remained greyed out for some time so I gave up. Im a bit annoyed.
You have to watch as I engaged pit limiter when entering pits but it had disabled it during pit stop meaning I immediately sped in lane on exiting.
Also dusk lighting in VR was terrible in quali session but I kinda got used to it.
Pity I was enjoying the session:(

Same here, I got disqualified from the race for speeding in the pit lane during qualifying. Bit harsh I thought

Trashed my engine on downshifts I think. Odd I did loads of practice but had no issues with corner entry oversteer until the race. Maybe I wasn’t running enough fuel to simulate the weight.

cars were sliding across the screen on front of me at the start so just tried to be safe. Then the rears started getting too hot and my race turned into a mess.

‘however I think a one stop was the way to go. The wear rate was quite high.

This is a nice track... while the cones are still intact. After cones got hit out of place, I found it extremely difficult to find the apex because this track is so flat. Also I finished P5 then did a warm down lap back into the pit, but the final results said for me P5 but also DNF. I'll wait for the official results.

There were some issues for sure ..thanks for hanging in there, I'm having a look at the server, don't know why Q was at sunset? but I will fix that .. Also, all drivers must use you SRO member /forum/sign-up names in the game for the results software to work so we need to know who was Quizno? so I can fix the results ..and I assume pab was Palo?

Thanks everyone. With all your efforts we will get things sorted out with AMS2

I didn't get tires when I pitted the first time. I'm sure I had that set correctly and could see my crew changing them. Oh well. Also seems my pit limiter isn't working. It said pit speed was 37mph but it also seemed like other drivers were going faster than that. Sorry for whoever almost ran into me in turn 5 or 6. I was screwing around with the ICM trying to figure out what went wrong at the pit stop and wasn't paying attention. Overall it was a fun race and a success for my first AMS2 race. That was the hardest 8 turn track I've ever driven. Found my way out into the weeds a few times. Had a fun moment with John who almost lost it in a turn and I almost hit him but instead veered off the runway and out into the weeds again :) Next race will be fun. See you guys then.

That was me. I setup my driver profile in AMS2 using my SRO name, but didn't realize I needed to also change my Steam name. Fixed it and rejoined.

Thanks for hosting, it was a fun race.
As for strategy one stop was the way to go, I went with two just to be safe as this was my first race in AMS2. I underestimated track evolution and my setup was made for I think was a green track.
