Sorry for the confusion at the start, I think I somehow jumped at least one car. Not sure who that was, I was hesitant in closing the gap to Phil in front, so there was the opportunity to get the place back but yeah, I should have done that a bit earlier because myself and all behind missed the start because of that.

The race was not that exiting, I knew the Porsche suited my driving style the most but not the fastest car. What I didn´t expected was how bad topspeed really is. Oh dear, poor Phil (probably John too) is in the same boat, so lets hope the other tracks are a bit less topspeed sensitive.

Apart from that, race was ok when I could run on my own with Phil in sight. As soon I lost him respectively tried to risk a bit more on braking it went a bit south.

Yeah, the Alfa is down on power on the power tracks, but pretty good on the twisty stuff, so I'm planning ahead with the car choice. :)
Tomorrow I will put in the update v1.2. Brannochbrae is a pretty cool track. Looking forward to it.

I went brutally off during qualifying and that seemed to have broken a wheel (haven't seen this much at all in AC). Since we are not allowed to ESC back to pits I limped back on 3 wheels.. who knew braking doesn't work that well on 3 wheels by the way :) I had time to do 1 last flying lap, I was 0.5s down before the last corner and messed it up losing 0.4s in that corner, it would have been a few tenths off Maddies pole time.. I was kicking myself. But Maddie also showed she had more pace than she showed in qualifying.

Maddie took an early 4 seconds lead which we kept more or less until the half race mark. I did get notifications from crew chief that my engine was not doing too well but the deficit was not that big, probably due to the server damage being set at 50%. But still, I was losing time. A few downshifts too early seemed to have damaged it quite a bit. Then I entered the village section a bit too hot 30 minutes into the race, had a wiggle and didn't want to brake too hard because I would have spun for sure. I went into the hay stacks quite hard and had damage to the front and side but I also saw then that my engine was dark orange and there was still 30 minutes to go. So I decided to back off and bring the car home, I had a 30 second gap to P3 behind at that point so that looked quite safe.

Well done do Maddie for a clean race!

Glad to be racing with you guys again. Reading up on the forum it seemed like quite a lot happened, too bad there was no broadcast to see it all.

Glad to see you in this series, Laurent.
Caitlin is working behind the scenes to get on top of the problems for the next event.

Yeah, l m pretty sure Reims would have been the worst track for the Porsche and the Alfa.

I was confident with my pace in practice but qualifying was really scrappy and I was sitting in 4th until the last lap. Managed to just about get the pole time in but it was close to Laurent's time.

Race start went smoothly and I managed to gap Laurent by a few seconds by the end of lap 2, but I think his pace got better throughout the stint and I made a few small mistakes as the race went on. It equalised out later on and Laurent dropped back again in the last 6 or 7 laps. Really happy with the result and I was expecting this to be a strong track for the Corvette but we'll see where it lines up for the twister tracks. I've uploaded my pole lap now :)

Braking so late and not even locking up ...
What is the top speed of the Corvette on Reims?

  9. Maddie Shepherd

Brakes feel too good on the Corvette tbh. Top speed for me was 172mph/276kph.

Ooh ... the Alfa Romeo got to 259 km/h. Faster than I can do on my bike, but still .... :p
Grats Maddie, well done and well deserved!

I watched same thing, when coming to last corner you brake only about 5 meters earlier(276km/h) than me in Alfa(262km/h).

Yep, and the Corvette weighs almost 500kg more.

Corvette has massive grippy tires and pretty good suspension. More than can be said for a lot of the others.
It's an odd car, has a massive engine and pretty good acceleration, good grip to cope with the torque (very good lateral grip), good (disc) brakes, but the aero of a garden shed so not that great a top speed :D
Only really let down by a lack of agility and it's shear size on the twistier tracks

Yep, I can see it still being a good car on upcoming tracks but not the best so it should be a fun challenge to try and get a podium or win :D

Not all cars are pre-selected on the server. With drivers car choices and 25 cars there's not enough slots. But I can put a car in by request.

Please John - will be hard for me to practice on the server without :D

Do you want another car than pre-selected on the server? You have the Mercedes now.

    I know - but that's why I asked here:
    And here:
To be put in the TVR - I never actually asked to go in the Merc and only ever commented on how good it now is
