We have discussed this in a driver briefing, but I'll post it here also:

    1. We will start the race in daylight and after 45 minutes it will get dark. With 35 minutes to go, it will be completely dark.
Be sure to turn on your headlight in time, or the game will disqualify you. I suggest turning them on as soon as we enter dusk (when it gets dark).

    2. In a test race I noticed that the car rolls downwards on the starting grid when you engage the clutch. Be aware of that or you'll get a false start penalty.

    3. It might be beneficial to practice racing in the dark before the race begins because the night can obscure your brake marks etc.

    4. The race starts with a formation lap. Before the last corner, coming down under the bridge, we double file in qual order.
    a. When the LMP1 poll sitter crosses the start-line, the race begins for LMP1;
    b. When the LMP2 poll sitter crosses the start-line, the race begins for LMP2;
    c. When the GTE poll sitter crosses the start-line, the race begins for GTE.

    5. We will hold a 5-second gap between the different classes on the formation lap. If there is trouble ahead on lap one, you have time to react to it.

    6. The overall poll-sitter will do the formation lap ca. 120 km per hour.

    7. The server password will be changed on race day. You can find the password for the race server on the Road Atlanta event page (where you signed up).

    8. Paulo Rodrigues is an LMP2 red light and he would like to drive. So if anyone in the LMP2 class thinks he can't make it, please unregister in time so he can move up to green and see the password. Unregistering in time if you can't make it is also requested for the other classes.

    9. A kind reminder that you can not use the Le Mans Aero Package in this or any other event in this series.

Just before qly my peddles failed and the same again in the race. Sorry about the collision who ever rubbed fenders with me. The accelerator stuck.
My first race in 6 months and equipment failure let me down. Oh well. Always the next race.

Headlights diqualified...wasnt even dark yet. F**k that.
On a side note, final stop would have been just dash and splash, no tyres needed so think i had everything under control + drove really nice.

So ill quit this nonsense of sim racing, go do burial for my stupid wheel and go play Destiny 2 where i can punch people in face and they die, or use my hammer rather..

Good racing all. Congrats to winners in LMP2 and GTE. Grats to podium. Good seeing my teammate Paul in podium with me.

Just couldn't find a clear path for Q. Got second which is good. Race started off good. Carl decided to give me first as I think he was caring to much speed and cold tires into the turn. In turn a lap later, I said why not, I'll give Toni the lead. Hold my beer, watch me avoid the GTE's and loop it at the same time. Mission accomplished. Came out last but the race was long so just drove and had fun. I pitted and a few laps later, Toni pitted. He came out right in front of me so the race was on. One sec he was in front of me, the other, he was gone. Why is Toni always getting in fights with the stewards?

Good racing GTE's. You guys did excellent. I just have to learn where to be more patient and where to make the pass. Not a single contact with anyone so that was great. A few laps to go, someone forgot their wing in the middle of the track, bam, right front fender damage. But the race was pretty much over by then.

Good seeing such a healthy pack of people here. The more, the merrier.

    Later guys.

That's really a shame. You can set headlights to "auto" so you don't have to worry about it. Off/Auto/On.

That sucks after all your hard work. Were you too late with the pit limiter?

That was quite the adventure for me. On lap 2 I spun. The next lap a GTE spun in turn 1 and was fully sideways with me 2 cars lengths behind. So guess what happened to me?
Again, a few laps later I was on the back straight looking down and checking my HUD when I suddenly hit an LMP2 in the rear who was going slow with damage. Sorry whoever that was, for giving you even more damage. Gave me a trip to the pits as well with 75 seconds of damage. Came out position 22, so I'm very glad to get 6th place in the end in my class.
All in all a great race with the darkness of night in the end. Good fun.

Grats to the winners and all who supported this event.

The next one is going to be a cracker. Patras !!
Not only is this a phenomenal circuit and 1 of my favorites of the series, but it will also be a partially wet race. So that's going to be something.
    See you all there.

    By the way,

I'm looking for members to join the rFactor 2 Stockcar Xfinity series. These cars deserve more than a meager 10 signups.
It is absolutely one of the best driving experiences from S397. Try the car and you'll fall in love with it. Toni Talvitie already gave up his day job to drive this car all day 24/7.
Let's get this series above 20 signups guys! You can find the mod- and track downloads on the event pages.

Was under the weather a bit this week but couldn't resist a chance to drive this mod / track combo so with 10 min of P1 left I jumped in.:D Having done a few laps earlier in the week my plan was to just hang around & not make any mistakes while trying to stay out of the way! lol. Things were going great as I soon had inherited 14th place overall as others had there 'moments':D I was just cruising, getting the flow of the track while dodging the P1's & 2's as they whizzed by! 1/3 of the way in I still had plenty of rubber left as I went full tank & hard's .. But then with no influence from any other cars, I nipped the curb in the sector 1 downhill esses & that shot me off into a glancing blow off the right-side wall of the track .. Thinking it was just a glance, I figured I could make it to pit lane & do some repairs... That thought was soon erased as reality kicked in showing the true damage that had completely destroyed & removed my right rear wheel and at the same time killed my engine o_O:rolleyes: .. so that was it for me.... I did enjoy it while it lasted & agree this is a great version of this track! Thanks to everyone & Congrats to the podium! I look forward to the next one! (& also, the stock car series mentioned above as these cars are extreme fun!)

Well ... you still have most of the season to redeem yourself. With your speed, that shouldn't be a problem :)

Toni I think you can set the lights to come on automatically. Actually I forgot to do that myself, but I will for the next one. I have suffered this error twice and I am still here. Stewart's?

Well that race was something else!

I was confident of a decent finish if I kept my race clean but I never imagined I would win the class! :)

Got in a decent amount of practice, did an hour of running at night as well just to get used to it. I didn't manage to do any running against AI traffic which I normally do so a tiny bit apprehensive about that before the start. The GTE's are rockets in a straight line once they get up to speed so are not always easy to pass,

Qualifying was ok, I managed slightly faster laps by myself (I think I did an 11.6 but it wouldn't have made any difference to the starting position) but managed the traffic the best I could and got a decent lap time in.

Got a good start and up to 3rd in class, then tried to keep a gap to the two in front who were setting some great lap times, however I wasn't worried because as soon as we hit traffic we would probably close up anyway. Which turned out to be the case.

I'm assuming Rui had a coming together with someone? Because he dropped out quite early, then Giuseppe had some issues....and suddenly I was in the lead! lol.

So I just tried to maintain the gap to @Roger Hinds because I know he's very fast but he must of had some problems too because all of a sudden he lost 40 seconds to me. Which then became a lap.

So I just tried to maintain a decent pace, no risks in traffic and bring the car home. I was lapping in the 15's which wasn't great but was doing the job. At the end of the race I was mentally shattered, lol.

Traffic was ok, really didn't want to risk passing into the esses although the real cars would do it, and I had maybe half a dozen incidents happen in front of me that nearly required a change of underwear....o_O Otherwise all good :)

@Michael LaBelle I think that was me mate. I was right up behind a GTE when he jinked out and I had you right in front of me! lol. I think I picked up a bit of aero damage (hence the lapping in the 15's maybe) but otherwise got away with it, bad luck with your technical problems and hope you sort them soon.

The Oreca always seems to deliver the results for me, a bit of luck involved of course but I'll take it as I'm pretty sure once Rui and Giuseppe get up to speed they'll be unstoppable.

The next race in the wet will be interesting for sure, the GTE guys are going to be wrestling their cars a lot so the prototype drivers will have to be super careful when lapping.

I was going to do myself a livery for this league, not sure whether to now in case changing liveries brings bad luck! lol.

Congratulations for the winner and runner ups of the classes.
The race was Murphy Theory existed for me. Wrong formation lap filings cost me remain back of the grid just after started. When I got at back of lmp2 class tail, all went wrong with challanges and after couple of touches, have ot be retired.
Though formation laps rules mentioned capital and thick on first post, it is absolutly rubbish struggling at the start to apply double file. LMP2 grid was not formed as mentioned just before the start ( last turn ) that made advantage for some cars and disadvantage for the others. That is small but existed serious results.
That is all I can say for this race for me.
