This is definitely a dangerous speed.
Different speeds in the pit lane depending on the parking space, a problem before the entrance and in the middle.
It's okay if you're alone, in practice you may end up racing in the pit lane

Kinda like it was in the 60s.

    Drivers briefing

    1. All 6 events of this series will be broadcasted
    Broadcaster: Rob Milliken
    [IMG]

    2. Oulton Conditions
    1) The race will start at 02:00 PM (in-game time of course)
    2) Time acceleration is normal. Fuel = 2x / This forces a pitstop. Tyres = 3x / The tyres give good grip, but are rock-hard on 1x and almost don't wear.
    3) Cut Track points are set to 6
    4) 100% damage
    5) This event has a standing start without formation lap
    6) This is a dry race
    7) Qualification is set to "private". That means that you will be alone on track so you can put in your best time without traffic (point 3 qual rule still applies).
    8) YOU HAVE TO USE THE SAME CAR THROUGHOUT THE SERIES THAT YOU CHOOSE FOR YOUR FIRST EVENT.

    3. The use of the Esc. key in Qualification
Use of the Esc key during Qualifying is the equivalent of stopping your car and getting out. This may be done only in your pit stall. There are very few exceptions to this rule. Here are the only two we will currently consider. These exceptions are subject to change at any time:
    - You run out of fuel in the pit lane before reaching your pit stall.

If you use the Esc key in any location other than your pit stall, your Qualifying session is over and you may not return to the track.

    4. You can find the password for the race server on the Oulton event page.

    5. Unregistering in time if you can't make it.

    6. Please use the
SAME NAME in the rFactor 2 game as on our SRO signup list or it won't match in our automated result processing.

You can change your name in the rFactor 2 "Profile" menu.

    7. If you plan to PROTEST another driver, you have to wait 24 hours counting from the end of the race.

Any protest filed before that time will be viewed as not received. You can find the rules about submitting a protest here.

    8. You can find the server by typing SRO or the track name. Add the server to your favorites so you can always find it.
If you can't find the server in the rFactor 2 server list, you can access this way:
    1. click on this link: https://simracepackages.lima-city.de/rF2server/
    2. scroll down to "SRO" (it's alphabetical)
    3. choose the correct server and Join with the password (see point 4 above)
    4. the server will start automatically and will take you to the event

    Custom skins

Please make sure you have a working custom skin to prevent lag issues for everyone on the server.
If your skin is not loading properly, you will be asked to leave the server with that skin and re-enter with a default skin.

Any news on Robs situation? Things happen and we hope he and everyone else in the storm are ok.

    bad race!
It would be nice if some of them didn't use the other competitors by leaning on them in the bends... It's always annoying when you're paying attention to the others to get taken out on the first lap !
Of course those concerned must not be on the forum...

@John, can't we do something to check all these problematic skins once and for all?

1)Get on the server some other days than race day.
2)Give better info as to what exactly is happening. Just saying " I have a problem is not helping"
3)Find who is having an issue with the paint you are trying to run and arrange a time that you two can get on and see if you can figure it out.
4)Reach out to people for help. Find the guys who have paints that dont cause problems and talk to them.
You need specifically need to reach out to Freddy Hell. He was on vacation last week and that is why he could not help you.

Just a little work from everyone and we will have it fixed.

T-boned another car that stood on the racing line starting lap 2 coming over the crest after T1 at full speed. My steering was completely destroyed.
Sitting in the pits for 4 minutes to repair was too painful to contemplate.

Yeah one of those days, pace was not bad and it looked good for a long time, even after I got spun arround points were on the table, but when you make too much mistakes - you miss out.

Seems Ed has found a good rythm in this series, congrats again. It might be wise to try this conserving strategy too.

Thanks again Rob for the broadcast. They keep getting better. I miscalculated fuel and had to drop a lap at the end or it would have been dnf for me. The competition in this series is really good. Had some good racing with Gilles and Phillip. Thanks for the fun and thank you John for the race. .

And I thought my 172sec of damage repair was a lot. Dropped me from 4th to 22nd. I should of just rode it out. It did not feel like much so I figured it would be fixed before the stop was over.

My input to the skins issue:
I had no problems with gmotor errors today. I saw Gilles' skin fine. Not sure about the other's - Gilles' are always recognizable(!).
What i notice last time was that, because the regions files don't seem to be active in this mod, i neglected to "reload" the skin after selecting it in the customize tab. Because of that it hadn't created a ".mas" file for the skin. These ".mas" are, i believe, the only things that work with the current version of rF2. If all you have in the skin folder for the car is a ".dds" file, it won't transfer properly.
I've also been previously made aware of some kind of problem with skins that begin with "_42". Not sure if that came into play today because, like i said, i didn't have any issues.
As to why i didn't have any issues, one thing to consider is that i went thru all the car skin folders in my "settings" folder and removed them all (except my own ".mas" file) before the race. This forced them all to load fresh. It may be that duplicate names were causing some issues, so i advise all who were having "gmotor" errors today to do the same.
Skins have been a bit too quirky in rF2 since the update that brought the "regions" files into the customize menu.

The gmotor issues I got were for all cars. It varied everytime (I noticed the GTO, cobra and Austin Healey there were probably more). One thing in the error did mention the WCCARBODY I think? Maybe it's duplicate materials? Or cars trying to use materials that appear in the track too? I had two cars that appeared for me as temp cars in the race session. John and Stefanos. One was custom and one was the original so I am unsure if it's a custom skin issue? Maybe it is and it's just throwing up random errors. My computer joined as spectator didn't get any gmotor errors nor temp cars.... which is odd.

I don't understand all these comments about skins! It didn't cause me any problems (apart from an error message, but no consequences!) I just saw that my name was mentioned in the in-game chat, and when in doubt, I used the default skin...
