Well done to Eric. Great driving my friend.

I only managed a handful of laps beforehand but I know this track so well from Raceroom I got up to speed very quickly.

Managed a good lap in qualifying, I probably could’ve gone a bit quicker but decided that P2 was enough, with the track rubbering in all the time another ten minutes and the track would’ve been a bit faster I guess, anyway well done to Paulo for PP.

All set to go, and before the lights went green I popped the car into gear and I shot forward! I couldn’t believe it and if I could’ve kicked myself whilst driving I would’ve done. Lol

Thanks for trying to cancel the penalty Rob, it was my screw up.

Anyway I just drove this race flat out, I was on qualifying effort for all 90 minutes. I’m shattered. Lol

I could see I was three laps short on fuel so I had to stop near the end, gave the lead to Eric, he looked like he was trying to fuel save a little too, but I couldn’t catch him and ran out of laps. Again it comes back to maybe not running enough laps beforehand and I’m still learning this car anyway. Car was awesome though, felt really good.

Well done to all finishers, Sebring next. My PC isn’t keen on this track but I’ll run laps beforehand to try and get the performance stable.

So it seems the server was running a older version of the Oreca,
and anyone who did update correctly could not join as all old versions was deleted.

Looking into it a bit more, and for anyone in the future, it's "easy" to find out.
When a rfmod is downloaded and successfully installed they are no longer saved in the package folder.

And as mention, as long the rfmod is installed, old versions is kept even if the car or track is updated.
The new version is still downloaded and installed, and will be used in single player unless the rfmod is used there as well.

Only when the rfmod with the old version is uninstalled, the older versions of car/track is uninstalled as well, next time you start rF2.

And if a rfmod is updated, but have the same name as the previous one, you will most time get a error when connecting as well
so it is good practice to delete old rfmod to avoid conflicts and to uninstall older versions of car/tracks.

But, when a rfmod do not install correct, a temporary file is created.
If that file is renamed *.rfmod you can manually try to install it:
    upload_2019-6-16_23-50-59.png

And if you try to install that one manually, the tooltip will say why it's not possible.
    upload_2019-6-16_23-51-52.png

One should note, as the new version is already installed in parallel so in this scenario everybody
would just have to reconnected to the server if it had been running the latest version after being fixed.

It's a bit annoying after 2 weeks of practice and preparation not being able to connect, and in this case
we were several drivers having this problem in rather good time (starting about 1h before qualy).

Hopefully this can be avoided in the future.

What a cluster *^*(&^%… Just bad timing for us on the rf2 update:mad::(... no warning ,no time to get it set ..it came within 10 hrs of our event but it was 3am my time so I was not around , Ken noticed it and went into action , he updated everything and then put the server up …. IDK but sorry it had issues still Ken again came on to confirm everything was ok & by then players had been able to get in with the LMP2 after updating threw there purchase page :)o_O.. So we believed the players not able to get in were one build behind .. so I told him its all good .. .. and well the rest is history .. again Sorry and bad luck/timing for us on a Sunday
Oh ya , Happy Fathers day !

    Congrats to winners and finishers.

Dang it. I did. My apologies to you kind sir. I don't know what the heck I was thinking. I just wanted to stay behind you knowing you're a fast driver but nooooo, I had to go and almost punt you. I'm not looking for the win but I am looking stay in the thick of it. I know it's a lack of practice and being around cars that I'm keeping up with. I just need to keep a safer distance and have more practice with people around me.

The current Oreca LMP2 version on the server is 162 & 163 (163 for MP) same as my install and I was able enter to see all the cars LMP2 & GT3 so some strange stuff goin on ..
Its a known fact that auto update is buggy when payware is involved , I think its how they crypto the files to keep people from steeling content or giving it away once purchased ..
IDK but this same thing happened to me a few months ago when payware was updated ,for me it was the BMW.. steam would not dl/install the current version & I could not see the BMW to pick from in the lobby , only after I went to the purchase page and un sub/re sub'd did it finally update proper .. But IDK wtf happened today ..

I'm not a expert on rFactor2 but one thing is for sure, that the rfmod that all people was downloading from the server was requesting the older version 1.57.
When creating the rfmod it might be possible to finalize the package again if using the old package settings, or it wasn't selected correct to used by the server when restarted.

All people that could connect to the server had old and newer versions installed in "Installed/Vehicles/Oreca_07_LMP2_2017"
    1,56
    1.57
    1.62
    1.63

All other who tried to connect had only the new version and could there for not connect.

At least 5 driver who had committed and practice for this event could not connect, and drivers on the sever had issues on the server seeing the LMP:s as GT3 cars. To be clear I'm not trying to prove any point here, i'ts not much guessing involved what went wrong as the rfmod was using a older version. It would be in everyone's interest to understand why and how to avoid it for further events.

Qualy: Great qualy for me. Managed to cope with the green track conditions and got pole by 0.030 seconds from Toni :)
Race: The formation lap was odd as it was very slow. I'm not sure that you should be cancelling penalties. It's up to the driver to observe the correct start procedure. Even if we followed the in game formation lap you would still get a penalty for moving under a red light. It frustrating and I have been there done that but at the end of the day a penalty is a penalty however harsh it is. Made a late decision on tyres and it worked well up to half way. I begin sliding and my good lead evaporated. Roberto got ahead at one point but he had a bit of a moment and by the pitstop I was back ahead. I changed my tyres as the fronts were destroyed but Roberto I guess didn't change his tyres and after the pitstops I was 20 seconds down. With 30 minutes to go on fresh tyres I may have been able to close the gap now lapping in the 1:43's but a spin put paid to that. I did close the gap to 6 seconds but I think Roberto was cruising at that point. Second in class was a good result on a tricky track.

Weird race. I didn't have the correct update and saw the Orecca as an Aston which was a bit disconcerting when I saw an Aston coming up behind me like a rocket ship. Kinda of thought I was on the pit limiter or something. Big shame this caused several drivers to miss the race :(

Well done to the winners :)

I see S397 have released Le Mans. Bit strange they released after the Le Mans weekend would have thought they'd have more interest if they released in the week leading up to the race. I think I would have bought it. Now I think I'll leave it until there's a sale on as there's already a pretty good version available. That said if SRO decide to use it I'll be there. Hint Hint :)

Qualy: normal, but that 'green track' make me at least 1s slower...
Race: can be summed up in two words: nitwit (mine) and s***. Total distraction at the end of the count down for the formation lap, unnecessary haste, which made me start/boot before the green light. Conclusion: a stop & go, that spoiled my race. Then, just ride until the end.
    Congs to the winners.

Oh I have no issues, it was my mistake. Paulo went as soon as the reds came on and I think my reaction was to go into gear and I started to move forward. I haven’t raced on this track on rf2 before and the light sequence was slightly different. Most go from red to green and this one did a F1 style sequence and it caught me out. Certainly made the race more challenging :)

Paulo was slowing on the track during the formation lap and that was why the pace was so slow (about 70 kph, 37mph on my screen), I think he was waiting for Rob to cancel his penalty? Only guessing. So I had to keep stopping to try and get him to pass me again so he was in the right position for the start. So yes a bit messy for sure. He then went for it about three corners before the start so already a big gap to myself (about 1.5s seconds) and 3rd. He makes the pace though so fair enough. Hope it didn’t spoil your start too much though.

S397 released the Le Mans track about 8am Sunday morning I think it was. Maybe they wanted to release it on race day but it got delayed slightly. Like Sebring, It’s easily the best version I’ve used and very detailed. Project Cars 2 probably beats it for atmosphere and immersion (if that makes sense) but the RF2 version would be more accurate I guess.

Sorry for people could not connect because of update, very annoying when happen :(
In qualy I completely forget the "esc" rule, so I could do only 3 laps but at the end I was happy in 3rd position not far from Paul( well done) and Toni.
In race I went with medium tyres (last race I tried with the softs without change but it was not a great choice).
I think I did a great race - Paul too, very well done - , I really enjoyed it.
Well done to all drivers, no problems with backmarkers and LMP2.

    See you next race :)

Lucky I had no issues joining.
Race was another story. 3 spins, one of them, touching the fence. No downforce forced me to pit to restore my car. Then 10 minutes to go I hitted accidentally my headphones and lost the sound somehow. Arghhhhhhhh. Last lap I was distracted letting a lmp pass by, and blowed my engine, I suppose I downshifted to fast... Driving any car with no sound is really bull****!!!
Hope my luck will change next round...!!

    No shows

As there were update problems for a number of drivers concerning rFactor2 and the Endurance mod, there will be no viewing of no-shows for this event.

Have a good one at Sebring guys !!
