This is really cool track. I could not make one lap in the first 1 hour, but then I started to feel the car with little changes. Now I enjoy the track and the car too. I will definitely crash, if I sign up.o_O

If you want any change of finishing, you also have to watch the ref limit for 1 hour. I already blew my engine by being careless.
Another thing is to watch the pit lane white line on the start and while racing. If you cross it with any wheel, you'll get a stop and go penalty. That's also race over.

Was there an update for this track yesterday evening?

No, it's not a Steam track. Is there a problem?

Unfortunately, I can't be there tonight due to an sudden appointment I can't get out of.
I will, however, start the qual up and during warmup I have to leave. Bloody shame, because I would have loved to race this track.

Not Clermont Ferrand. That is a manual upload track.

Realistically the lighter cars such as the Ferrari/Lotus/Brabham should be faster than the Honda and BRM's but I'm not even sure if that's the case. The lighter cars aren't settled at all and really get disrupted by the bumps and jumps. Going to try some laps in the Honda, which on paper should be awful around here.

    DRIVERS BRIEFING

    1. All events of this series will be broadcast
    Broadcaster: Neil Wood

    2. Clermont Ferrand Conditions
    a) The race will start at 01:00 PM (in-game time of course).
    b) Time acceleration is normal. Fuel = normal, tyres = normal.
    c) Cut Track points are set to 20.
    d) 50% damage.
    e) The weather sunny and dry.
    f) Qualifying is 10 minutes.

    3. This event has a standing start. No formation lap

    4. PUNTING:
    - If you punt a driver, you have to stop and give the track position back.
    - If you are not able to give the track position back, you have to do a pitlane drive-through.
    - If you do not give the position back or do a drive-through, you will go 3 positions down in the end result after the race.
    - Drivers who are punted can report to me, John van der Geest/admin, if the offender did none of the above.

    5. The use of the Esc key in Qualification
Use of the Esc key during Qualifying is the equivalent of stopping your car and getting out. This may be done only in your pit stall. There are very few exceptions to this rule. Here are the only two we will currently consider. These exceptions are subject to change at any time:
    1. You run out of fuel in the pit lane before reaching your pit stall.
    2. You sustain damage to your car as a result of another driver and cannot make it back to your pit stall. You must prove your qualifying session was wrecked by another driver and that you made an attempt to return to pit lane.

If you use the Esc key in any location other than your pit stall, your Qualifying session is over and you may not return to the track.

    6. You can find the password for the race server on the Clermont Ferrand event page.

    7. Unregistering in time if you can't make it.

    8. Please use the SAME NAME in the rFactor 2 game as on our SRO signup list or it won't match in our automated result processing.

You can change your name in the rFactor 2 "Profile" menu, or
Find the file ". . . steamapps / common / rfactor2 / UserData / Player / player.JSON". Open it in Notepad or any similar app. In the "DRIVER" section, find the line "Player Name":"Your Name" and change it to "Player Name":"John Smith" (or whatever). Next line "Player Nick":"(enter your nickname)"

    9. If you plan to PROTEST another driver, you have to wait 24 hours counting from the end of the race.
Any protest filed before that time will be viewed as not received. You can find the rules about submitting a protest here.

    10. You can find the server by typing SRO or the track name. Add the server to your favourites so you can always find it.
If you can't find the server in the rFactor 2 server list, you can access this way:
    1. click on this link: https://simracepackages.lima-city.de/rF2server/
    2. scroll down to "SRO" (it's alphabetical)
    3. choose the correct server and join with the password (see point 4 above)
    4. the server will start automatically and will take you to the event

    Safety mode found!
Last 5-6 laps was trying to beat my best lap since found 6 tenths in the 1st sector. Figured now 3 tenths more and can challenge fastest lap....
Holy moly hit something every lap.
Very happy to finish, Honda was very handfull rear beeing so light. Superb racing.
@Julien you had so much trust that can keep the line on the pass. Happy i put tiny pedal on like 30 minutes before race and moved the radar so that can see it:D
Apparently your rear snapped on the left hander then? Thats how it felt to me anyhow.
Just pure racing, im sort of out of words and dont even remember whole race. All i know is Maddie rode to horizon and fighting Kostas, Julien or Lars whole race.
So many outs and close calls but still proud and happy..
    Thank you!!

Span on my first qualifying lap and was tempted to just keep it as my only time because it was still a 53, but was worried that someone would beat it so went back out. Second and final lap wasn't perfect but still pretty good and close to the limit.

Race start went fine and Kostas kept up fairly well. Didn't really have any issues in the race apart from one dodgy backmarker incident which I'll talk about in a bit. Near the end the car started becoming uncontrollable over the bumps again so I had to pull my pace in a bit. Had a spin and an Austin Powers moment really late on which cost about 12-13 seconds but didn't damage the car thankfully. I loved the layout of this track but the quality was kinda ass and the bumps made driving it hell. Glad that round is over. Congrats to the podium and finishers.

On the lapping incident: On lap 5 I caught and was lapping @Rick Law (They raced under Bob Loblaw). I was behind them in a section which is barely a lift. As I was preparing to pass, Bob slammed the brakes on causing me to almost crash. Please, in the future, keep to your line and racing speed and be predictable when letting leaders past. This was so dangerous and almost caused me to crash out.

I thought I could catch up with Kostas, but I always made a mistake at the wrong moment!
Yes @Toni Talvitie , I lost the rear end in the right-hand bend I’m sorry...
I wanted to let you pass after that, but I realised you were waiting for me to go first. Anyway, I missed my braking on the downhill section and you were able to get back in front anyway.
It’s a shame you damaged your car just before the last lap!

I had two proper scares during the race, but I’m glad I finished; until yesterday, I didn’t think I was capable of it. Also, I was right to switch to the Brabham at the last minute. I’d trained mostly with the Honda, but as Maddie said it probably wasn’t a great choice, I thought I had nothing to lose by trying a change. The Brabham seemed safer to me. (And Thank's @Lars Hagemann for the car settings advices yesterday)

Broadcast just caught you both heading into the trees with no clue what happened. The auto director seemed to get a little drunk later in the race.

Mr. Maddie. Lets be clear about something. That was my first race in a while, on a long twisty, tough track with a one hour duration. I was trying my best to stay out of people's way. Watching my mirror and negotiating tight turns simultaneously is very tricky. You need to learn to be patient in a situation like that and read the room. You were in a substantial lead and could have been more cautious. Be a little gracious.

    *Miss.

As a backmarker, you should be predictable in your actions. You pretty much brake-checked me. I was pretty patient but it's a single line corner and I can't do anything other than slam the brakes to avoid hitting you, which I almost did. You saw me in your mirror, panicked and then slammed the brakes which was very dangerous. I stand by my words and I'm not driving any different when it comes to backmarkers.
