@Ed Jones, in the last laps the shifter of my rig blocked, I didn't succeed to change gear for about 4-5 seconds, it happens 3 times, fortunately you didn't hit me, sorry

very difficult to drive the porsche cup in the wet, the last few laps without tires it was like being on a boat

Sorry for the spin at the start at T1. I WAS careful, but another car cut to the apex where I was and threw me in a spin.
Pretty eventful race having to claw my way back through the field with some good fights. Took dry tires in the middle, but it started raining sooner than I expected, so had to come in again for wets. See you all next time.

first 40 mins was great, took the lead at the end of the wellington straight on lap 1 and managed to pull a 3-4 second gap to second place.
Last 20 mins was a disaster, simply ran out of rear tyre (down to 1%) and spun going into luffield, then took on 50L of fuel in addition to tyres by mistake and then sped on pit entry so had to do stop and go after, in hindsight I should have pitted earlier for tyres as this race was a bridge too far for me to do it all on 1 set, I commend the guys that managed it.

Although I was awful, (didn't had time to train.;);)) that was a very good experience to have a race in the rain with various rain conditions. Thanks everyone.

16%, left rear wheel with 15 minutes to go. Nope. I had to stop racing Andreas or else I wouldn't finish the race (tire go boom). When I started easing off and relaxing, that's when I started spinning the car lol :D. Congrats to Andreas. Congrats to all finishers. Fun but tough.

    Cheers,

    Johnny

I have the slowest guy in the race and finished dead last, but it was still fun, I managed 2:24s and 2:25s early on, although I tyres really suffered, I was less than 50% left after about quarter distance, finished with my froints 3/100 and 7/100, it did not turn very well, kept the same set of tyres for the world race, maybe could of pitted but I wasnt sure about the weather and also I didn't have any keys/buttons bound to change to a different tyre. So just kept going slower and slower, the last third of the race I was consistently lapping 2:40.xx s, But I was determined to finish at aleast :)

Hi guys - I was speechless after the race, couldnt believe it.
Pole was already unexpected as my pole lap was my first timed lap in Q and I did it as safe as possible, later on pushing harder in Q only made me slower?!
I dont like setup work at all, always just try to make the car driveable to my liking, but here with the Porsche in the rain it was easy, spoiler max, camber very low, arb detached, brake bias to clicks to the front.
I wanted to save my tyres as long as possible, after Nick overtook me in first lap I tried to follow, but Nick was so fast. Kahel put pressure on me and I constantly kept saying to myself: keep calm save the tyres - that was not easy. In the broadcast I saw that Kahel had in incident, sorry for Kahel, lucky for me as this left a good gap to relieve a bit. At half time I had 50% at my RL, so in the dry period I tried to avoid any wheel spin and sliding, Then Johnny closed up and pressured me, I was sure its only a matter of time that he overtakes, but I guess he killed his tyres in the dry period, Nick spun in front of me (sorry for Nick and his desaster afterwards) and I was leading. My heart raged - keep calm keep calm. After some attacks from Johnny he let me go - wow. After Johnny disappeared from my display, Matteo was the one behind me, expecting him to close the gap, I could manage to keep the time gap to Matteo constantly between 8 to 10 sec, his tyres must have been dead as well, at the end I had 12% left at RL.
Thx a lot all inclusive Rob the broadcaster, this is such a nice community!!

I'd love the replay please! :)

I'm just about to watch the broadcast... wondering if I was seeing weather a little bit different to what everyone else was. Seeing someone on slicks on a damp track? I couldn't quite believe it!

The replay was uploaded this morning on the event page where the results are.
Can you please look at your action at the start in turn 1 with regard to me and tell me what your opinion about that is in a private post?

I changed to slicks when I saw the water spray behind my car was gone, telling me the track was dry enough.

I did always thought I had to ask for the server replay as it wouldn't be uploaded unless requested.

Well that was something I've not done before. A wet league race with a dry spell then wet again in rFactor 2!

I still think the wet weather needs a tweak in this game. It's either that or a track specific thing as I saw many people running on wet kerbs which should be lethal. Also dry tyres seemed to be OK on a damp track? I didn't expect that!

I had done a full race stint with the predicted weather and knew tyres would be an issue (as they usually are!).

Started cautiously with the spray being pretty disorientating! I knew the first few turns there could be a lot of side by side so I was expecting switchbacks galore.

I was up to 6th and unexpectedly hanging onto the lead bunch for a bit of the race until their tyres warmed up. I dropped back trying to pace myself a little for the rest of the race. The gaps ahead went up and down a bit with battles but I was not close enough to capitalise. I was kind of glad I was in a gap all on my own. As the rain stopped quicker than I thought regarding the forecast the track dried way quicker than it had done in my tests. There wasn't even wet offline to cool the tyres, my tyre wear progress was not looking good!!

A couple in front would pit, along with those behind and I tried my best to watch the time sheets to see if they rocketed through the field. As the race progressed I didn't see any of those undercutters making progress and I began to catch @Matteo Dentella but just could not get close enough. I was making all kinds of mistakes on worn rubber and needing to take care into certain braking zones.

Lapping cars on newer tyres came through and I just needed to nurse the car home even though the temptation of 2nd was huge. A podium in such conditions is more than I could have hoped for, chuffed with that!!

Will it be sunny in Hungaroring? Probably!

Another very enjoyable race as always at SRO, it was always going to be a difficult race with the conditions so tricky. Congrats to the winner and all that finished.
@Tim Cartwright I gave you a tap into T2, which sent you round, apologies, it all seemed a bit laggy on the start one or two cars jumping about. will happily take any penalty coming my way. Also another great broadcast from @Rob Milliken. See you all at the next!
