phew, well that was something! this is such a rewarding track, when you kind'a get it right! thanks @John vd Geest for hosting this round of races and for selecting really great tracks that i wouldn't have found on my own. :D
the practice has definitely paid off, although i managed to kiss the barrier at least twice, but without damaging the car.;)

I agree. Good car track combination, had a lot of fun today. Thanks @John vd Geest. You nearly would have got me, as I managed to crash the car in the last lap...
That was probably payback for the first lap, where had an unbelievable save. @Vasilis Doumanas and @Karl Steeg had not so much luck, I think we were all three a bit too fast for that turn. Sorry @Karl Steeg if I irritated you.

And of course, as said congrats podium. Especially Laurent and Phil, I will definitely study the replay to take a closer look at that stellar performance.

Well done. I crashed also twice with minor damage. Good for 5th place. :)
Driving this car on these tracks really wasn't easy, so well done all. It was quite an accomplishment!
But the speed and car handling from Laurent and Phil was completely insane. They were in a class of their own.

So grats to Laurent on the championship and GEAR on the team championship!

Another very tense race but so much fun and rewarding at the same time!

I had to watch the replay too. Phil's car was much more settled than mine, I don't know how he does it since there are not that many things to tune but he was able to drive different lines than me (less understeer) and that meant I was not able to shake him off the whole race long. It felt like he could easily catch up to me. Funny thing is he qualified in front of me 3 times and I got ahead each time with a much better start (except my drive-through at Horsma which was due to a clutch calibration issue not going 100%..). We had 3 races where Phil was on my bumper for pretty much all race long. I wonder how things would have turned out if he took better starts and I was the one chasing him. I do like to chase and put pressure myself, I wish we had a race where the positions were swapped as well.. maybe he would have been the champ if he took better starts. In any case massive thank you to @Phil Brown for these rounds. They were very demanding for both of us, I hope you enjoyed it as well and you weren't too frustrated. We had no real incidents whatsoever while racing within a second for 3 races long, for me that was great! Thanks again mate!

Thanks John for this one. Did you like the car this time? ;) And yeah, another win for G.E.A.R :)

Really a fun car that you can push very hard but needs a different driving technique to high torque race cars. Felt quite natural, at least something you can kind of relate to.. not that I drive this hard on the roads luckily :)

Thanks guys, see you in the next one!

Ha ha, should have let me past then. But seriously amazing consistency from laurent didn't put a wheel wrong especially on a track where the car is jumping and bouncing around all the time. I was waiting for him to chuck it into the trees, but he didn't, great drive.

Yes, although I don't quite understand this baby yet.
I was watching you onboard for 1 lap in practice and you have almost no tire squeal and perfect balance setting up the car for corners.
While I was going through half the corners with opposite lock and tire smoke :p

You are going too fast John.. opposite lock should be quite minimal really. It's not a setup thing, I was almost on default except ARB's on 0 for this one. You are probably overdriving the car. The practice lap I shared with Ronny was quite slow (but I had 45 liters of fuel as well which is more than needed for the race), I'll drop it here. Quite slow compared to qualy pace though. I did adapt some of my lines and gearing during the race where I noticed Phil was quicker. My race setup was actually worse than this I think.. I upped the dampers and rebound quite a bit which made the car too jumpy for the race.

Track was too much for racing without practice. Crashed few times in 2 laps :D

Very demanding track with this car, but was really fun :)

My very first lap was a disaster, with those cold tires was like driving on ice, so in turn 4 if i remember well i spun and i found my self last about 25 seconds behind..
After that i tried to drive like a taxi driver lol i gained some positions but still John and Philipp were 25 -35 seconds ahead..
At last lap i was after John about 3 seconds behind but i lost my breaking point and i lost my chance to gain the distance so at the end i finished 6th..

Well done to all, specially to the guys in front Laurent and Phil, they really are on another level... :)
The series were really fun indeed, maybe we have to consider the fact to do more races like those at assetto corsa, or a series with BTCC or WTCC cars or a cup car race
(civic type R for example).. Just an idea..

Until the next one take care all!! :)

I wasn't sure if I was being lapped or fighting for position. But after you missed your braking point the question became academic ... :)
Still, great job catching me after such a big gap!
