Yup, your wheel looks gorgeous @Mark Johnson. May I ask where did you buy it ?
I see you have a TH8 as gear shifter, did you mod it ? If not, I would strongly suggest you to dig in this direction, I have 3 mod gates now. 1 cheap and basic no-name, 1 good Nolitto and 1 CustomSimShop supposedly even better. I got the cheap one for about 3 months, and it adds a substantial feeling to the H-shifter yet. Then I mounted the Nolitto one and it was, in a few words, a huge disappointment, everything went wrong with a very poor feeling and it finally broke. I contacted the manufacturer who claimed that it was probably due to my TH8 not being exactly the same as rest of the production. The guys kindly proposed to just send me a brand new version, slightly customized to fit my slightly too big rod before eventually refunding me if it was still bad. A proposal I couldn't refuse of course. I now received it, mounted it, and it's great indeed. This mod brings a much much better feeling of the gearing, it's a fantastic improvement. Finally I still didn't mount the CSS one for now, I think I will keep it just in case, but it should be at the very least as good as the Nolitto one.
Then of course it doesn't make me faster, I'd even say more likely slower, because you have to deal with a more demanding stuff, but the immersion and the realism are much better. When I remember me gearing with the G25 playskool toy...:p:rolleyes:
Also did you think about getting a shorter or longer rod (more likely longer looking at your racing setup) and gear blockers ?
At the end of the day a good old TH8 can become a true gem of a H-shifter.

Hi Maxime, the wheel was from E-bay circa £80 if i remember rightly. I then had to buy a quick release mount for it for my DD wheel (got 3 wheels now for different classes/categories of cars). I just searched 'classic wooden steering wheels'
Must admit i had never thought to look for improved shifting gates for the THR8. I have had it so long that i thought i might have changed it to something else by now. Its still a really good shifter in my book. I get the occasional mis-shift when in really intense action but that feels quite realistic to me with these old historics beasts we race. I also have a HE sequential shift and flappy paddles on one of the rims, so quite well covered on the shifter side. A racing friend just bought a beauty of a shifter, modelled on a real Mk2 Escort dog-box, but quite spendy at 1k plus o_O but it is an engineering work of art.

Haha some guys are awesome indeed, I've seen one on YT who had adapted a complete real gearbox !!
My suggestion is ~30 pounds costly though, :D and is really a game changer. ;) Ask me if ever you want some links.
