Same thing happens to me, track remains soaked even after restart , not really a bad thing as I need more practice in the wet :D:eek:. But i think on race day if we want to start with a dry line the server needs to be shut down & then fired back up not simply restarted as the wet seems to carry over on restarts;)

On raceday at 18:30 GMT the server will be re-started, so the rain doesn't carry over to the practise and qual session.

    Drivers briefing

    1. This event will be broadcasted
    Broadcast team: EithaRacingTeam
    Broadcasters: Nassim, Lorenzo & Sameer
Twitch broadcast link: www .twitch .tv/eitharacingteam (delete the spaces)

    2. The use of the Esc. key in Qualification
Use of the Esc key during Qualifying is the equivalent of stopping your car and getting out. This may be done only in your pit stall. There are very few exceptions to this rule. Here are the only two we will currently consider. These exceptions are subject to change at any time:
    1. You run out of fuel in pit lane before reaching your pit stall.
    2. You sustain damage to your car as a result of another driver and cannot make it back to your pit stall. You must prove your qualifying session was wrecked by another driver and that you made an attempt to return to pit lane.

If you use the Esc key in any location other than your pit stall, your Qualifying session is over and you may not return to the track.

    3. Istanbul Race Conditions
    1) The race will start at 02:00 PM (in-game time of course)
    2) Time acceleration is normal
    3) The race will start without rain, but it will rain in the last 40% of the race.
    4) In the first 60% of the race the temperature = 29 degrees.
    5) In the last 40% of the race the temperature = 20 degrees.

    4. The race starts with a formation lap. Right after leaving the last corner, we double file in qual order.
    a. When the LMP2 pole-sitter crosses the start-line, the race begins for LMP2;
    b. When the GTE pole-sitter crosses the start-line, the race begins for GTE.
(The LMP1 class has been close from Istanbul on. All the drivers from LMP1 have been transferred to LMP2)

    5. We will hold a 5-second gap between the different classes on the formation lap. If there is trouble ahead on lap one, you have time to react to it.

    6. Each class poll-sitter will do the formation lap approx. 120 km per hour.

    7. The server password will be changed on race day. You can find the password for the race server on the Istanbul event page.

    8. Unregistering in time if you can't make it.

    9. A kind reminder that you can not use the Le Mans Aero Package in this or any other event in this series.

10, You can find the server by first typing
    sro

    11. Please use the same name in the rFactor 2 game as on our signup list or it won't match in our automated result processing.

    12. Last but not least ... SIMRACINGONLINE wishes you a great race!

Did some practise laps in the wet and driving in the rain at Istanbul is nothing less than exciting LOL.
It's certainly going to re-shuffle the cards. Looking forward.

yeah it’s very different to the other race, not much grip at all. Setup may have to be a compromise I think.

Congrats Toni and Nic on the win. Congrats to podium and whoever finished. Just finishing was an accomplishment. I started the race like a champ, wind in my hair, looking like a supermodel. When the race finished, I was bald, tired and don't know what the crap happened. Story of my life? Anyways, sorry to Jen. I couldn't seem to pass him and when I did, I spun. I had fun but in a strange way though. Hmmm.

Edit: On a side note, I didn't touch a single player. Woohooo.

    On to the next. :)

I didn't feel much good about the race, still not confident with the car. In the last moment I decided to join anyway as at least I could drive it to the end and see what happened

Q was better than expected, and the start was surprising, but in a good way for way. I managed to keep the car out of travel and despite a bit of paint trade that caused some vibrations on the wheel, everything seemed to work fine. Had a great mid race battle with @Nigel Middleton and @Sameer Arshad. Watching them I feel like I had better tires in that part of the race, and I even manage to passed them just before it started raining after several laps of continuos close battle and fights.
Then I pitted, and when I returned, Joe Brown was 10 secs ahead of me and Nigel 10 behind. I made a couple of laps and saw both gaps opening, so from that point on it was a matter of driving the car home.

Good race, didn't expect to me a consistent mid-packer here. Special thanks to Nigel for his help with the setup (it really helped me) and the race battles.

I'll probably skip Fuji, as it's a track I've never liked so it will probably be too much suffering for me there, but hoping to be there for the 2.4h Daytona!

Congrats to the podiums and the finishers

    Nice racing Alberto & Sameer.

Started with slicks all was going well got passed a couple of cars and the car felt good, Then a GTE was in the middle of the road which he must of spun no where for me to go after that car did not want to turn in even after repairing the splitter was even worse in the wet.
Grats to winners and the rest of the podiums.
