Thanks! Glad you enjoyed! I think it's a great car with some really tricky differential/driveline torque characteristics that make it extremely challenging to drive effectively for long periods of time. I was especially struggling with tire wear, funnily enough.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to practice any due to the large amount of prep I've been doing for the IRL racing stuff. Being torn between an event where you're contracted and an event where you're running your own car is really weird. Trying to be fully prepared for both simultaneously is a logistical maelstrom I wouldn't be eager to repeat.

 

I'll just stick with the BMW

 

The BMW is so freakin' fun to drive. Almost picked that instead of the Mazda but decided that I hated myself and wanted to deal with corner entry diff lock every single long braking zone. lole.

Hi guys My work again puts a stick in the wheel on me, therefore I have to report off from evening race, cant make it. My work will also challenge me in the coming weeks - with tasks away from home and my SIM. Therefore, it will be most fair for you and possibly others who are in this cool series - to give the place to someone who can give you race on the track. I could not join the server "no slots available" 25/25 drivers

 

That was disappointing, first disco in years, so no clue what caused it. Saw a lot of people rejoining during practice, also due to disconnects?

Didn't realize you could rejoin, so when I went to check the broadcast to see if I was the only one out, or if the server crashed, I saw a chat message about rejoining. At that point I was already 2 laps down and wanted to improve fastest lap for a point if that's in this championship.

Hope I didn't get in anybody's way while unlapping myself, I always tried to do it in the simplest way possible. That wasn't possible with that Merc, so after trying for a while I pitted, as I didn't want to influence the outcome of that battle.

Still quite a fun race, after missing the first race and now disco, the championship is definitely over for me now.

 

Unfortunately Caitlin I didn't see your post before the race, but I hope you grabbed @Mac Shepherd 's ones and not the file I provided. His works, mine not.

 

Shame about the disconnect as you were flying and probably would have won the race with what was happening behind :/

 

An absolutely horrendous race for me. Got involved in a pretty big incident at the start, then had a fairly boring race from then up trying to catch up to the back of the pack.
Then managed to hit the edge of a wall on pit entry, losing more time, then with about 7 minutes to go I drifted wide at T1, clipped the wall, and ended up spinning half over and half through the wall. So it ended up teleporting me back to the pits.

If anyone has a replay, I'd appreciate a link to it. I want to have a look over what happened at the start.

 

Mixed race for me, started terribly got better as the race wore on. Finished well
The night started terribly, took me about 5 re-joins during practise with various problems with my controllers not being recognised in the server even though they were working under 'controls' in the menu. So i lost all the pre race practise and finally got going during qually. With the disruption i just couldnt manage a good lap and qualified badly in 13th i think, when i had been expecting top 6
Got a really good start off the line and just about squeezed up the middle of a big pack of cars, gaining about 5 places but then losing some again as i got squeezed from both sides into T1. All good and clean at this point and following chicane amazingly. But when we got to the haipin we were almost 3 abreast with me on the outside. A mustang hit the green Alfa that hit me into the armco wall hard and then i got hit by a few others following through who couldnt avoid me, So i dropped from 10th to 19th
I got going again with some hefty damage and started to re-catch the pack. About two laps later Johns escort slowed out wide at the turn after the hairpin, like he was letting me through for whatever reason, but as i went through the corner he weirdly just turned into me and put me into the wall and i lost a load more time. I was really angry at that point especially as he didnt give the place back and sped off and now i was so far back from the leading 10. Anyway i got my head down and jogged on. When i recaught John and a few other cars i watched him do the same again at the same corner to Phils MG pitching them both off track did you wear horse blinkers last night JVD? it was like you just didnt see the other car both times.
I also saw the poor green Healey get absolutely clattered mid turn by a Toyota 3000, really poor driving by some early on in the race. Just no need, too much impatience.
Anyway, as the grid shook out the racing got better and i thoroughly enjoyed battling my way up from 19th to 5th at the time for a pitstop 40mins into the race. When i rejoined with fresh boots i was flying and soon caught the guys ahead in 3rd and 4th which was Laurents BMW v Kimis Mercedes. This was a great 3 way battle for quite a few laps which i really enjoyed as each car had its strengths and were driving well. When i finally did get in front of both i was chuckling each lap as the Merc caught me like a freight train down the long s/f straight and i worried every time that i would make it to the twisties ahead of it where i could use the Porsches strength.
Thankfully i was really consistent for the last 10mins and stayed ahead for a fine 3rd place I was still a little miffed as i should have been fighting for the race win here without the early contacts and troubles. My car was setup like a peach and felt great dancing through the turns. Being a classic 911 owner gave me an advantage

Great track and cars looked and sounded awesome as ever Well done to Lorenzo on the win.

funnily enough i was watching your merc out of the corner of my eye on the right whilst having my own demon start ! think the pair of us overtook half the pack ahead in first few hundred metres
