Keep in mind guys THIS track is deadly for multi-class racing sector 2 is a twisty nightmare and the straights are not very long or strait .... the speed deference in the 2 classes is huge & you don't get a 2nd chance as things happen so fast.. I didn't see any intentional wrongdoing, just some poor judgment with no room for errors.. I'm surprised there weren't more accidents :D.
The next round is Fuji so there's a lot more room there.. I'm sure there will be a few penalties but let's put this one behind us and look forward to the next round!

thank you all for the race. It was difficult to keep the temperature of the medium at a good pace. Perhaps hard would be a better choice. Very tight in GT3 5-6 cars at a 0.5 second pace. see you in Fuji

In Ben's defense he was trying all the way up to warm up of the race to get rFactor 2 to open and connect to the server but just missed out.

Yes, it was really slow. Took me almost 30 mins to load up and get into the server.
I should have known better with RF2.

congratulations Roman, your pace is very fast as always, my only hope was a mistake from you or some LMH that would give you a boost :D

I read the complaints of Johnny and Kahel, I'm sorry that their race was ruined, the narrow and twisty circuit did not help. Personally I had no problems, but I must admit that when I see the slower and less experienced LMH drivers coming I no longer look ahead, but put both eyes in the rear mirror.

@John vd Geest have you ever considered putting ballast on the drivers based on the previous race and/or classification points? maybe in this way we can have more exciting races

i will post my setup from last race, (not much different from imola one) to gives others a chance instead, as ballast is the antithesis of fair competition, and driving overweight cars is no fun.

You got a point there... I also wish GTE driver would have more consistent and predictable behaviors...
But even so... that's by no mean an excuse... I see zero reason for doing a extremely late dive (inside or outside)... without any indications, clear sign that you can...

If a driver let you pass... he will (should) make you understand clearly that he will... and only then, you can go for it...
Assuming... and going for it without any indication, even against a driver that let you the inside 90% of the time... it's just finding yourselves excuses... for very bad behaviors (and/or racecraft, or rather lack of...)

(What about the other 10% of the time... where the driver can't or doesn't (see you for example)?... should you still blindly dive...?)

At the end of the day you should always have clear signs that you can go for it... and even then, an escape plan... (it's usually called braking, lifting, timing... OR even WAITING, TIME IT to overtake on the EXIT. I know, crazy thought, isn't it? I wonder why IRL driver's do it so much... #sarcasm...)

    Hi Nick,
Is that for the standard or the LM aero package?

for standard package, LM one a bit too unstable.

wing 1 can also work if you don't like a loose rear end.

If I remember correctly, (and it has been almost 24 hours so no guarantees), there was a hypercar on the inside. I took my eyes off you for a second to see where he was at and when I looked back you were slowing and I jumped on the brake, bumping into you and going over the inside curb before spinning to a stop in the corner. Everybody missed me and I got going again without causing any more problems. It was an intense race, for sure.

I looked at the replay now. My apologies to Joe Brown for the contact into turn 6, that ended really bad for you, sorry man..
And last lap overtake with Robin, probably I should let go, but I saw a gap and went for it. From my car it looks ok, from yours not that good.. Probably I can say the same for a collision with Joe - from my car I really didn't have a feeling you would turn in that soon, but I guess the GT driving line is like that..

Well, other than that, race was fun for me, enjoying overtaking of GT's all the time, even though I had quite a lonely race in LMH class. I settled for P4 quite early in the race, but then Tony surprised me with his visit to the pit. You probably went to tell your mechanics to keep the setup a secret next time ;) I made a good use of it :p, thanks!
Then Robin made a mistake and 15s of gap was gone. Took a chance on last lap with the overtaking of slower car and P2. And it wasn't far from win, as I saw on broadcast later on, what happened to Nick :D

I guess Fuji should really cause less accidents, like Rob said. Looking forward to it! Congrats to both winners and to Robin for amazing time in Q!

A race of ups and downs for me, had a blast on the first stint racing Nick thru the GT cars and settled into a nice rhythm, Had contact with Johnny after misjudging the pass, I should of backed off and passed on the exit. Again apologies Johnny, Found it difficult to get back into the groove after that. Ultimately lost out on my fuel strategy, didn't think the one stop was possible.

@Matej Dakskobler your overtake was all good, I got caught out by the GT car I was about to go down the inside but you were already there

    Grats to both winners.

You should cut us LMH drivers a little slack it's not easy getting thru the GT cars, the closing speed is crazy and only have a split second to make the right decision and this track made it a little more difficult.

Looking forward to the next one

Hello everyone! Sorry could not make it into the race. Managed to get one lap of qualy but had awful lag spikes every 30 secs or so. Trying to race like that would make me ruin someone elses race.
Also, great to see so many names from the race2play era. Gonna try to make it to Fuji. See ya!

robin does have a point with the lapped cars, once you commit to a side your committed due to the closing speed and can not back out without swiping the back of them, however if 1 or 2 LMH drivers have issues with traffic it looks bad on us all unfortunately, you do loose allot of time if you take your time with traffic so I can see how taking liberties is necessary but ultimately it requires cooperation from both parties.

Most GT drivers know how to hold their line and thats fine but the really good ones will give you a hit before they turn in which way they want me to go by making the gap on the inside or outside obvious based on how they are adjusting their line on turn in, I know there are exceptions when the GT does not have time to see the LMH car but there are one or two GT drivers who do not employ this and will make overtaking hard every lap by pretending I am not there which not only slows me down but the GT car also.

At the end of the day its a bit of give and take but the extreme speeds between the classes meant it was always going to be an issue at a tight track like this, only two left and they are spacious so I think the we can manage, but in future might want to run the LMH alone or have two different races, if it was the LMU hypercars it would be fine as they are slow as hell compared to these cars which are basically matching LMP1 hybrid times.
