The collision with Joe happened right in front of me. Looked like you didn't need to be that close, left him no room to even turn into the right hander. If you were mid track instead of up against his left side you would be more visible and also both could have gone through two wide if you took a tighter line to that bend.

Well, at least it make sense why we have terrible results.... If it's the way (most of) you guys see this...

====''once you commit... can not back out...''====
OK, sure... but the key part here is 'once you commit'... isn't it your job to commit ONLY on obvious clear path...?
And the issue is... a lot of the move feel more like a gamble than anything else...

====''really good GT drivers will give you a hi(n)t (I think) before they turn in... making the gap on the inside or outside... adjusting their line...''====
Could not disagree more... a 'good' driver is often racing against very hard competition where every single tenth can make a difference...
Every time a GT's have to adjust their line, it's because of a 'mistiming' from the upper class... who didn't do it's job properly. (bound to happen, nobody's perfect, 'mistake' nontheless)
If a GT driver can make it easier without loosing time, sure. If he is (or will be timing wise) in a clear side by side situation, of course it's his job to slot in without incident... the lower class also have judgement call to make; he should not drive like he is alone on track... but in no way a GT driver should have to adjust their line, in general, and significantly... it's the upper car class job to make it as smoothly as possible around the Natural GT driver lines.

====It's All About Being Predictable and Smooth... (not to forget: the Preparation)====
Both class will loose time sharing a track, but to loose as little as possible... It's All About Being Predictable and Smooth... from both class.
Predictable will make the overtaking preparation needed obvious... Smooth to be able to go (or slot in) as soon as the path is clear... true for both class.
And Yes, shocker... an overtake is suppose to be Prepared... not just roll the dice and let fate decide.

So when I (basically) hear... ''well, I was commit... (implied: nothing I could do)... tough luck''...
I don't know about you... but (with all this in mind) it doesn't sit well with me...

Another reminder... GT drivers do have to at least have their eyes on the road ahead so they can navigate the track. We can't drive in our mirrors. Hypers behind can see everything and plan accordingly. GTs have a few pixels in the mirror.

It does seem at some points the "not wanting to lose time" results in putting GTs at risk of divebombs. They are racing too and deserve respect. When I see hypers plowing through GTs, no lift into gaps that are always going to close because they want to save 0.05 of a second... it's really not worth the risk!

Also worth remembering... if there are two hypers nose to tail and the first one sneaks passed the GT... the 2nd one will be risky. There is no guarantee the GT can even see the second one is even there!

Many of you scoffed when I asked at the start of the season for some consensus.... but it seems that after 4 rounds, many GTs are pretty fed up.

I propose to transfer all LMP drivers to the GT3 class for the next 2 races and vice versa to transfer all from GT3 to LMP while maintaining championship points

That would make for a nice experiment. Probably a lot to be learn by doing so... for both class.:D

2 small issues (on my side at least) with this idea:

    - Those LMP0 are nowhere near good enough for me... I was planning on registering with the HY but after a little test session, I understood pretty quickly that it wasn't for me...
it probably doesn't help that I have been spoiled with the HY from LMU... but even then, trying to be lenient, those car... feel just way to arcady for me, like, not even close... and on top of that the FFB is pretty broken (on my hardware...) some weird stuff happening.

    - And unfortunately I (just) decided that I would (also) be out of this championship... more precisely the decision was partially made for me: out of the 3 peoples with I had an issue with, none responded... no big deal, they might just not like doing follow up after race... maybe it can be taken as aggressivness on my part... but either way, I'll take that as a sign...
Plus the main reason is because Johnny is out... I was waiting to see if he would come back after calming down. But he still look pretty out to me...

    ========================================================================================================
Just to be clear, I'm not mad at all or anything... I'm not even think I'm trying to make a point here. It's just wouldn't be the same now, I feel.
Despite the overall way too aggressive behavior of the HY class and the divergence of driving philosophy... I do also feel like we should give them some slack...

Maybe not for the reason that you would expect tough... more like they feel like they have no choice but to be this aggressive if they want to have a chance to compete...
it's a bit like when you don't have track cutting detection...
Maybe that's where lies the heart of the issue. Not to mention that with simracing we just take a lot more risk in general, that's just the nature of the beast... we probably have to accept that in simracing people will always take a lot more risk... (and ruling should take that into account that specificity... clear ruling, that would give driver peace of mind...)
We complaining here, but in all fairness, it's probably 2 times worst everywhere else like iRacing or RaceControl rF2... so again I kind of understand... and I'm really not sure that I would have done any better under the same condition.

Anyway, Thank a lot for this championship... it was really a blast. Such close and nice competition between the top5.
Probably the best simracing experience since I took back the wheel 1 and a half year ago... (which make it that little bit more painful...:D)

See ya all, soon... Enjoy. ;)

You mean Johnny Gutierrez? I really hope that he will continue the championship. He is one of the safest SRO racers and when his Aston Martin allowed he beat my pace, such as in Leman. There is a long straight ahead of Fuji, and if I hope to cope in Bahrain, then in Fuji I may not be able to keep up the pace. I watched Johnny and Robin's sad contact,
Of course, Robin made a fatal mistake by not being careful with Johnny, but he himself understands perfectly and has already asked for forgiveness. I hope in the future LMP will drive more carefully.

like I said Fuji and Bahrain are quite wide tracks so I doubt we will have as many issues as the last race so no need to make any rash decisions.

Congrats to both podiums for what must have been a tough race and a big thank you to @Rob Milliken for another great broadcast.

@Kahel Grahf: Apologies for side-swiping you. Truly sorry. It was 100% my fault. No excuses other than a lack of ability, compounded by a poor, split-second decision. Apologies also for not having apologised sooner, but I really haven't had the opportunity until now.

@Johnny Gutierrez: Sorry Johnny, massive apologies if I played a part in your early race retirement. A self-inflicted off destroyed my steering and ultimately took me out of the race (my engine caught fire during repairs). Sincerely hope my mistake didn't spoil your day.

I appreciate you reaching out and the apologize.

I can understand lack of abilities... not everybody has the time nor the will to master every type of skills... That said, being safe on track should not be optional.

If you were not self-aware enough till now... somebody need to tell you that as it stand you are danger for other on track... not because of your lack of skills, but because despite being aware of it... it doesn't look like you have the self disciple to act accordingly.

Of course I'm not saying this based on 1 incident alone... but your Name came again and again, a lot of the time I saw an extremely odd, very questionable moves... I saw your name on my relative...

You'll never hear me bad mouthing someone because of lack of skills... but someone that obviously does, that is already self aware... and still drive like he is Senna... Sorry, but I just don't get it...

Simracing is already hard enough on his own... why do you chose to make is even harder by taking so much risk, by driving the upper class...? it's such an hard car... than even the 'best' of driver's here struggles...

In this one race alone, you have 'bad-mouthed' several people due to your perceived lack of their skills and have criticised others for their way of thinking.
While I appreciate your passion for sim-racing and hope you reconsider your decision to quit the series, I don't appreciate some of your comments. I find them overly personal and rude. To show respect to SRO, rather than reply in a public forum, I have sent you a private message addressing all of your comments.
