    Drivers briefing

    1. All 6 events of this series will be broadcast
    Broadcaster: Rob Milliken
    [IMG]

    2. Indianapolis Conditions
    1) The race will start at 02:00 PM (in-game time of course)
    2) Time acceleration is normal. Fuel = normal
    3) Cut Track points are set to 6
    4) 100% damage
    5) This event has a formation lap
    a. the formation lap is done in single file
    b. when the poll sitter exits the last corner, the race starts
    c. you may not overtake until you exit the last corner yourself

    6) This is a dry race
    7) Qualification is set to "private". That means that you will be alone on track so you can put in your best time without traffic (point 3 qual rule still applies).
    8) See the "DISCO PROCEDURE" 1 post below.
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU HAVE A HEADSET CONNECTED TO TEAM SPEAK, WITH OUR WITHOUT A MIC.
WHILE ON THE SERVER, WE WILL ALL GO TO THE "RFACTOR2" ROOM ON TEAM SPEAK FOR THE RACE BRIEFING DURING WARMUP TO RECIEVE INSTRUCTIONS.

    3. The use of the Esc. key in Qualification
Use of the Esc key during Qualifying is the equivalent of stopping your car and getting out. This may be done only in your pit stall. There are very few exceptions to this rule. Here are the only two we will currently consider. These exceptions are subject to change at any time:
    1. You run out of fuel in pit lane before reaching your pit stall.
    2. You sustain damage to your car as a result of another driver and cannot make it back to your pit stall. You must prove your qualifying session was wrecked by another driver and that you made an attempt to return to pit lane.

If you use the Esc key in any location other than your pit stall, your Qualifying session is over and you may not return to the track.

    4. You can find the password for the race server on the Indianapolis event page.

    5. Unregistering in time if you can't make it.

    6. Please use the
SAME NAME in the rFactor 2 game as on our SRO signup list or it won't match in our automated result processing.

You can change your name in the rFactor 2 "Profile" menu.

    7. If you plan to PROTEST another driver, you have to wait 24 hours counting from the end of the race.

Any protest filed before that time will be viewed as not received. You can find the rules about submitting a protest here.

    8. You can find the server by typing SRO or the track name. Add the server to your favorites so you can always find it.
If you can't find the server in the rFactor 2 server list, you can access this way:
    1. click on this link: https://simracepackages.lima-city.de/rF2server/
    2. scroll down to "SRO" (it's alphabetical)
    3. choose the correct server and Join with the password (see point 4 above)
    4. the server will start automatically and will take you to the event

    Last but not least ...
SIMRACINGONLINE wishes you a great race!
And always remember that your fellow SRO members have also put in a lot of time practising for this race,
so please be careful and respectful with your buddies. :)

    DISCO PROTOCOL
To prevent the loss of drivers to an event due to mass-disconnections, Sim Racing Online introduces the following protocol.
(TeamSpeak INFO - go to TS channel rFactor 2)

    ADDITIONAL INFO:
    - A group of discos of 3 or more have to happen within a time zone of 5 minutes, otherwise they are viewed as separate incidents. For exemple ...
Driver 1 discos at the start, driver 2 after 15 minutes and driver 3 after 1 hour, those are separate incidents.
    - The pits will remain open during a Full Course Yellow period.
    - After a disco you can rejoin with a fresh vehicle : When you get back in session, your car is brand new, ready to start in Pits and you can use "Drive" to get back on track.

ok considering no preparation except little session yesterday.
Q i nailed it and was still testing ratios
R felt good except noticed that i had much too little fuel. tank was set for 3 stopper so had to adjust on the fly and lenghten 2nd stint by some and then lengten final stint to 40minutes and noticed towards the end that even fuel is going to be short so just parked it.
When westy catched me i had those tyres allready 20minutes old and i dont know why the f*ck you dont just wait but start that idiotic divebombing shit all over again. Different race, same bomb. Thats really stupid and no, i was not blocking this time, i had no tyres left to match your fresh ones.

Well that was a blast. Got distracted looking ahead at strategy and spun early, then pressed the wrong button and sped, then did a drive through instead of stop and go... The rest was just pushing, sliding, and having fun. Can't wait to see you all next season!

It is hard to start a championship bid, when nobody believes in you, including myself

In the end, I did the same as in the other rounds, having a bad quali and slowly catching up place by place - if others had misfortune as Robins big air moment or whatever. As in Road America my race pace was ok, but I missed around one second per lap to be in the mix. Not fully sure, how to gain that because I adapted to map 8 for this track other than in Road America. Maybe it is the hard braking where I do not brake hard enough or my set up.

So it was no surprise, that the only time I got close to the front, was when I got lapped. On the bright side, I had a front row seat, when Toni and Nick battled. Without any further comment on that, this was the only time, where I had the tiniest bit of hope for a lot of dominoes to "wobble"

Anyway, congrats Nick, prevailed over discos etc. Thanks for hosting, I somehow like this car, even though I am not sure why.

good battle with Lars in the first two stints, very respectful racing, look forward to racing with you again.

@Toni Talvitie What you call a dive bomb I call an overtaking maneuver under braking, passing by braking later on the inside of a corner is a basic part of motor racing, that fact I need to spell this out beggars belief, I am entitled to go for the move to press my fresh tyre advantage rather than sitting behind in dirty air and trashing them, I will ignore the fact that you move in the braking zones, pinch me at the apex and do not leave a cars width, so I have to mount the kerb to avoid contact. But what you did after running wide at the end of the same lap is unforgivable, it was a miracle you did not take me out completely, I managed to get to the end with damage to my left rear luckily, you should not let the red mist get the better of you toni, cooler heads will always prevail.

Thanks to my team mate Robin Taylor we were also able to claim the teams championship, could not ask for a better team mate, another championship for Black Cat Motorsports.

Thanks for Hosting such a great series John, I think these cars are now my favorite and not just because I won the championship, they handle so well, and have such a great feel.

This car is such a superb league racing car. I love the way it allows you to pull off different strategies with tires. And there's just enough dirty air that you can defend while still allowing for passing to happen.

My two cents, not that anyone asked but having watched the replay a number of times: That was a fair overtaking attempt with a late move to the inside, but under control. And that was a fair defense to move to take the inside with almost no chance of expecting anyone to be there. Really just a racing incident with both parties lucky to escape without damage and move on.

Q: I made a good lap, but only enough for P8. At the time there were 4 or 5 drivers inside a tenth or two. Then I got disconected, some Steam problems that I luckily just had enough time to sort out before the race start
R: I had two spins in the early stages, but also others had problems, so I was P4 before the first stop. I then managed to keep the car on track and drove consistantly.
It was after the second stop when the race really began. Caitlin was about 6s behind me after the pits, but I knew she had a better pace, about 5 laps fresher tyres and much higher top speed. Luckily I had most of P2P left, I tried to use it wisely on different places to gain some time, but also save it enough for a straight battle, when it comes. Penny went for P3 few laps before the end, but outbraked and I managed to get P3 back. It was very intense and I really enjoyed it!
Thanks John for hosting again, great car and great tracks, I wish we can do another race in Surfers Paradise someday!

I ran into a software error while processing the results. I'm going to need Mark Hightree to fix that. The message is out. Just have to wait for him.

Thanks @John vd Geest for hosting another very enjoyable series, and Thanks @Rob Milliken for broadcasting the races.

Congrats to Nick for both the race win and the series win, and grats to all that finished the race.

Not one of my fav tracks, found it hard to find a decent setup for the car, had a big crash on lap 2 or 3, couldn't really get anywhere after that, all good though.

looking forward to the next series.
