For this one-off event between Christmas and New Year, we will be using the FVR V8 Supercars 2021 mod available at the STEAM rF2 Workshop. Information available from the Workshop as follows.

Scratch Built Australian Supercars Series 2021.

FVR V8Supercars 2021 V21.xx simulates the 2021 Australian Supercars Championship. The mod has multiple options in it to suit various configurations of how you want to drive. The diff ratios and tyres are set for the Australian tracks, with race changes. There is a Server Edition with open diffs for online racing. Please be mindful these cars run a spool diff which means a fixed axle unlike your normal cars. Therefore you can get extra wear if you are too hard on them and they can tend to try and drive around in a circle at low speed corners. You have to be smooth. They do use an S397 tyre with no changes however the diff will make them unlike a GT3 car. We can assure you they have been driven for hours and hours.

So 2021 has quite a few changes to the physics files. At the start we wanted to add a little grip to the tyre especially the mid corner grip. So this has been increased slightly and to offset the increased speed of the car, engine HP has been dropped slightly. Top speeds still seem to be achievable on a gripped up track and we have tried to match the pace of the car with the RL cars. Tyres are now Hard, Soft and the ALL new Super Soft. This new tyre has red lettering to distinguish it. (I know the RL cars are white but we thought we would be a little different, also there was talk D....P was going to orange but with COVID this hasn't happened). I hope it has more degradation than last years Super Soft. The engine file also a new mapping which adds a little more bottom end response as we felt it was lacking a little in that area. The motion ratio of the suspension has been lowered as we have leaned over the spring/shock unit more so hence you will see stiffer springs and shock values in default. Ride heights in the default have been changed also. Tyre pressures I have defaulted to 145 to give the casual user a better experience however they can still be lowered to 117. Cambers have also been treated in the same way to give hopefully a good out of the box first drive experience. Brakes have also been adjusted and brake bias can probably be more tuned to the rear as in the RL car. In addition bias is adjustable in 0.1 increments now. The position LED on the front windscreen is gone now and driver names and numbers changed to match 2021. The region files have been tweaked as well to add a little more gloss to the car and with new Ambient Occlusion files the cars really pop now.
