@Roel Postma How much cheaper was the rig compared to buying one straight from Sim-Lab?
i'll sent a pm, link to my dropbox, containing the blueprints. I did small alterations that are not in this blueprints due to limitations of the Maytec design software.
It was not a matter of cheaper for me, but i designed it within my wishes of stability, length and height. I did find most of the frames uncomfortable because they are to low to the ground. I have a severe lung disease and it only works for me if i can sit up straight and breathe more freely and step in and out easy. Thats also the reason i did not opt for the common bucketseats or hard shell race seats but for a custom made scheel car seat, that suits my build and wishes.
The frame, monitor stand, nuts and bolds from motedis costs on 30/08/2017 : 599,00 euros . Aluminium plates for wheelmounting/mouse and keyboards where ordered unfinished. an
Additional from simlab: the adjustable angel wheel mount. about 50,00 euros ( i did order these from Motedis first, but found them to thin).
A simlab GT1 will cost you 499,00 to 599,00 without monitor stands, depending on your wheel configuration
A Simlab triple monitor stand for 27 inch screens 219,00 euros. So, a little bit of hobby and elbow grease saves you about 150 to 200,00
Thanks. I see now why you opted to do it yourself. BTW, I raised my Sim-Lab rig of the ground to. Its about 15cm higher now. And it has wheels under it so I can move it out of the way easyly
And the reason I asked was because my nephew wants to start Sim-racing, but he's on a budget. So if you had a way to make a rig "on the cheap" it would be a good option for him. But I'll start him out with my old Playseat rig. Its wobbly, but it will do for a starter rig.
When I first got VR, I could only go 10-15 minutes and I'd get lightheaded, and for the following couple of hours I'd have a headache and feel like I'd just got off a boat.
Just kept going back and doing more, building up the time I used it.
Can now do 2 hour races without any issues or side affects at all.
Cannot drive using monitor now, just feels so wrong.
Modified Fk automotive rig, t300rs with gte and formula wheel, heusinkveld pro pedals, th8a shifter, and oculus rift
Speaking of "rigs" ... this is what VW is using at LA auto show ...
The little pads track movement from the sim, and pushes the wheels/suspension up and down to simulate the movement of the car and braking forces.
Anyone got a spare GTI lying around for their sim rig? lol
I will take Carl's Focus RS when he is not looking and rig that up
Maybe I should use my Type R
This is my rig but just starting racing again after a long lay off. New G29 and playseat.
My PC also needs an upgrade as I am currently running an i7 2600k overclocked to 4.2GHz and a single GTX970
Not made my mind up whether to buy a new Wide monitor or triple stand

Small advice from an old simracer : Unwrap them before, put it in a bowl at a distance shorter then your arms length on the left side (so you can take one when you upshift on straight) and HAPPY RACING
These arived today bargin buy, certainly feel they made a diffrence over the t3pa pedals
GT Omega Chair, T300 GTE with the Alcantara rim, T3PA pedals and a TH8A shifter on a Wheel Stand pro deluxe.
I have a 32" 1440p monitor but use Windows mixed reality headset and race in VR! Have a wireless mouse and key board next to me on a coffee table. Will post pictures when I find a cable for my phone!
Sim rig changed now to CSL Elite PS4 wheel base and basic rim and CSL Elite pedals with the loadcell unit. The wheel and load cell have made a huge difference still tweeking but will get there. On the desk at the moment as the wheel base didn't fit on the Wheelstand pro I had. Going to get a Trak Racer RS6 Mach2 when funds permit.
Neil looking at this rig is it any good? Got my CSL Elite wheel and loadcell Elite pedals now which are awesome!!! Now I just need a rig to make the most of them.
