Did someone say "bar fight". That would make great movie: guy walks into a bar and drinks a alot, but then starts bar fight. Guy watches it and drinks alot more!

 

Ted, before you start teaching something to someone, there are at least 3 preconditions that you can't buy at 150 $ per hour. Their name is EDUCATION, RESPECT AND HUMILITY. You won't find that at Walmart

I wasn't aware about the voting and when the votes would be closed otherwise I would certainly have voted.

 

I'm pretty sure it's mainly a question of communication and forgetting, also a problem of maths as said before : imho you should have counted only the "agree" and "dislike" votes under the question to see where the majority goes. A lack of vote shouldn't be considered as telling anything in a direction or the opposite.

Not to mention it was end of year festivities so that people weren't much involved at that period.

 

Might more be the guy assuming non voters about a proposal would be against that proposal you know.. Like the proposal being : would you like something to be changed ? Nah ?! Millions of people didn't say "yes" so they DID say "no". So get out of there Joe !

 

It takes 2 seconds to vote. I don't think everyone was aware of the polls in general.

 

I respect yours too John, and I do understand that the scoring system won't change for the next series, yet I would like to prepare for the following one. And I just would like to summurize the things ; I didn't infer that non voting people were more likely to choose one or another solution. I just say that non-voters don't count. I mean in the voting process of course, not in any other way, their opinion matters, but it doesn't legally count in the vote.
You wanted to make a referendum to arbitrate this question, but you didn't ; when you have a 100 million population (say able to vote of course ), and you make a referendum, you can't ask for 50 000 001 person to answer "yes" or "no" to your question. You have to ask for a majority to be created within the actually voting population, so that if only 30 million people voted the turning point will be the 15 000 001th vote for the "yes" or the "no".
If one doesn't agree with this, it's wether one doesn't agree with democracy or one didn't wanted to make a vote in fact, but a petition.

I can only speak for myself but I hadn't seen those "Vote for XXX points system" threads before!
